My dad bought something called "Atom" or "Adam" it was a computer but all I remember was that it had a Buck Rodgers video game.

Around 1999, I spent around $1200 on a Acer Desktop, CRT monitor, etc. I got it at cost too from a family member that owned a company and got dealer prices. $1200!! I wish I could remember the size of the hard drive. I know that it didn't have an ethernet port because down the road, I had to spent extra to get that port.

My dad was a teenager in the 1970’s, so the eight track player was all the rage. When he married my mom in 1980, the VCR was a big deal.

I don't know what they paid, but this was the "big" family Christmas present from back in the day.

Now I'm trying to figure out what year it was these came out. . I know it was early to mid 90's when we got it. But knowing my dad, it was probably a display or something he got on sale.

$2000 for a microwave in 1980. It was the size of a regular oven.

The thing worked until 2005.

Around 91 or 92 I got my first computer..486 SX 25 4 MB ram, 120 MB hard drive, 12 inch monitor. It was around $1300.00. I had it for two days before Windows crashed. The screeching of the modem was music to my ears..Slow music.

Good ole AOL. Kinda ruined the element of secrecy when you tried to log onto porn at 2 am.

Don't know what it cost because at the time parents didn't (at least mine didn't) share with their children what something cost .... but I do remember the first color television my parent bought. Around 1965 or so ... nice console RCA with probably a 16" - 18" screen. And I remember running outside to turn the pole our antennae was mounted on so that the channel of choice would have better reception. Three channels, KALB, KPLC and KATC ... those were the days......

My dad bought a computer to use for his business and it cost close to $10,000 in 1978 which was a hell of a lot of money then. It was a DEC PDP-11.

They got me a HP-21 calculator in 1975 for high school, and it cost $125 which was also a hell of a lot of money at the time.

Microwaves were expensive as hell, we held off on them and VCR's for years until the prices came down.
