Do you prefer being alone, or does it make you anxious?

Thread was about whether you want other people around when watching LSU on TV (big no from me).

I am an only child, so being alone feels natural to me. I have a wife and 3 kids, lots of family and friends, but I feel like my natural state is by myself. I prefer it. I like hanging out with others, but only when I’m in the mood.

I have friends who get viscerally anxious if they aren’t with other people. Humans are social creatures, yes, but some people actually require the presence of other people to enjoy themselves. Oh, and the thought of dining alone in a restaurant makes them apoplectic.

First few days of alone time are pure bliss but eventually I start to miss the family. Can't imagine being alone for extended periods of time. I would talk to myself constantly just to avoid going crazy.

I like being alone for a little bit each day. After a few days of not having any time to myself, I get anxious.

I am alone except for 3 or 4 hours per week when my son and grandson visit me. I spend all holidays alone. Never anxious but I get lonesome as can be.

I'm able to watch the game a hell of a lot better when I'm alone.

For everyday life, just give me a dog for a companion and I will be fine.

Being home by yourself is great. I couldn’t imagine having to have someone with you 24/7

Being by myself is great. But not for too long. My mind starts to drift into some really weird and uncomfortable places after a few days alone.

And when I am with others, I prefer it to be a small group no bigger than 7 or 8 people. I used to do the packed bars on the weekends but I'd last maybe ten minutes in one now before I'd start to get really irritated at all the people in my space.

I wouldn’t say that I necessarily prefer it, but I’ve spent a lot of time alone and it doesn’t bother me at all. For instance, I went to a restaurant by myself last night, and sometimes I’ll go alone to a movie.

If you need expert advice, sometimes it’s better to be alone.

I'm just fine alone, especially in the age of smartphones where I have something to keep my mind occupied anywhere I go. I am 41 years old and have lived alone since my senior year of college. At this point, I think I would have a hard time living with someone else. I enjoy spending time with other people, too, but I need a sanctuary where I know no one is going to bother me.

I love to be around people 80% f the time. But I have to have some time alone every day IrnThe woods.

Being around people energizes me. Being alone discharges the energy and relaxes me where I can get introspective.

I will be watching the games today at the bar with friends, but I spend many weekends at home alone.

I enjoy the company of others and being social, but I have no problem being alone as well.

I dont mind watching casual games with others, but for games I care about, I want to be by myself.

Didn’t read the whole post but I 100% prefer solitude. People stress me out and drain me mentally.

I’m the opposite, I would much prefer to mostly be around other people, and occasionally be alone when I’m in the mood.

I don’t get anxious when I’m alone, I’m just generally a social person (extrovert) and would prefer to be with other people.

For instance, I don’t really enjoy watching sports alone, I enjoy the social aspect of being a sports fan probably more than the sport itself.

I've never minded being alone. I do not like being around alot of people. Over the years, I've developed claustrophobia with panic attacks. A few folks at the house or going out to a place that isn't overly crowded is fine. I'd rather be alone every day than be in some of the clubs or bars I used to frequent.
