i played back in 2010ish. Way 2 many try hards, and every game ends in near fights. You have the 20ish year old try hards who are 2 much of pussies to play senior baseball, so they buy $400 bats and think they are the babe ruth of softball. Our team was half guys in shape, half chubbies who can hit, and we went out to drink beer and play, not be softball guys. Guys on my team wouldn't take any shite, so they would end up jawing with the try hards. I got tired of it, i wanted to run around, enjoy playing ball, and go home to heal, not yelling at other team for stupid shite.


When i was in Florida, they pretty much don't play softball, fields are being used by baseball or football 365 days a year.

Also, getting older, and i love to run the bases, not hit homers, so after a night of running around like a chicken with his head cut off, my body would be sore as frick.

Fields are so fricking hard, one dude, his field is limestone and dirt combo, very few rain outs, but in this heat w/no rain, the field is hard as frick, ball rockets off the dirt.

Weird thing, when you cut your leg or arms up from sliding,etc. That limestone mix, heals the frick out of your cuts. shite would start scabbing over night good. Cut down on scab days.

I agree. I played from 19-25 in a for fun league and a few weekend tournaments yearly and had a lot of fun. Got back in it in my mid 30s and it just wasn't as fun with the cut bats and glitter glove douche bags arguing every call. I rather stay home.

Pretty much my experience. Played from 21-23. Couldnt get enough people to play baseball so we did a coed team. Damn near every game someone was pissed off or injured. Couple guys on the team started using rolled bats. I stopped having fun and quit when they tried to call for a mandatory practice for a beer league softball team.
