I love everything about it. The reactions are priceless. "He fell on his arse. He fell right on his fricking arse."

Even if things went perfect, it'd have been awful.

When I worked midnight shifts, I used to watch ECW. That's the outfit that started using folding chairs and picnic tables.

Just thought I'd share.
ok, thanks I guess

This just shows me you probably don't communicate with many different groups of people if you have never heard someone speak this way regarding television.

Maybe if you ever venture out even further from your bubble you may run into an old Yat that makes groceries and you can start a thread about it trying to be cute, can't wait :

I mean, it's clear he knows what he's saying, he just wanted to squeeze a little condescension into the experience.

I think it's more troubling that it seems like the guy was trying to find some common ground to have a friendly conversation about, and this cat decided to turn that into a joke. It's fine if you're not into "wrasslin'", but it's shitty to respond like that.

There was a fork in the road in this thread:

One way was recalling old wrestlers and waxing nostalgically.

The other, criticizing the old man's lexicon.

In real life, hopefully the OP told some old JYD/Dibiase stories. Otherwise, it would be like me trying to explain that "Walmarts" was singular and not plural to my Grandma.

Thank you for posting the Stagger Lee video. I was at the Superdome when Stagger Lee fought Dibiase or Roop with the stipulation that, if S Lee was unmasked and was JYD, he would be banned from MidSouth Wrestling for life. Stagger Lee was indeed unmasked but the referee was knocked out and could not see who was under the mask.

I will take the true identity of Stagger Lee with me to the grave.

He did get unmasked one time, but it was Butch Reed in the uniform (you could tell when he came out to the ring, it wasn't hard to tell his physique).

and for all the American Dream fans;

DUSTY RHODES

it was all part of his "reputenda", that's awesome !

and don't forget the Super Destroyer destroying Reeser Bowden;

REESER BOWDEN

the GOAT, The Big Cat Ernie Ladd on Chief Jay Strongbow (would not pass the PC test today);

ERNIE LADD

Hot Stuff Eddie Gilbert and the Russians turn on Bill Watts;

HOT STUFF & RUSSIANS TURN ON WATTS

Great stuff and great times that can't be replicated.

Long live Mid-South Wrasslin'
