The guy was reaching out to you to identify commonalities that could be used to bridge the racial gap and you can't wait to mock his effort by posting about the incident on an Internet chit-chat board?
There is a race problem in this country and people like you who consider themselves to be too good to watch the epic battles that occur in the squared circle are the problem. Go apologize to the guy and tell him that Junkyard Dog is your all-time favorite grappler and does he remember Thump! or The 4 Sisters on Thumb Street.

Thank you for posting the Stagger Lee video. I was at the Superdome when Stagger Lee fought Dibiase or Roop with the stipulation that, if S Lee was unmasked and was JYD, he would be banned from MidSouth Wrestling for life. Stagger Lee was indeed unmasked but the referee was knocked out and could not see who was under the mask.

Yea pretty much. Me and Sonny's common ground is fishing though. I've been with him fishing before. He gets real excited. We were bass fishing with worms one day and he sets the hook, misses a fish and yells "ju see that got damn fish bite my worm?" "No Sonny, your worm was underwater". He looked at me like I was crazy. Good times.

ETA: She was an educated woman, too. She had a Masters degree when just finishing high school was an accomplishment for most women of her era. But she loved her stories.

"Look at" meaning "watch" is a new one for me. I can honestly say I have never heard anyone use that reference in reference to watching television

Used to love big cat Ernie Ladd, Mr. Wrestling II, The Rat Pack (Dibiase/Duggan/Matt Borne, in a heel faction) back in the day. Also, for some reason I thought a guy from Saudia Arabia with Oil Money had nothing better to do with his time than hire mercenaries from around the world (Missing Link, Kamala,Kabuki) to take over a regional wrestling territory. I'm talking about Gen. Skandar Akbar.

Yeah as a kid my dad would take me and a buddy to the sportatorium (or whatever it was called) in Lafayette. Bruiser Bob and Cowboy Bill Watts were sworn enemies on tv. We walk in the bar area and the two of them were drinking a beer together. It blew my mind. Also years later walked into a New Orleans bar and ran into Bill Watts. Talked to him for a while. Pretty cool guy.

I think WWE is getting better as someone who keeps up on /r/squaredcircle. I went to Wrestlemania X-7 when I was like 12 or so and fell off.
That said, if I could, I would absolutely love to go watch the Von Erichs at the Dallas Sportatorium. I'd also love to see Dusty in his prime.
Dusty was huge in molding a lot of the talent bringing people back, including myself, to wrestling.
