re: Do you look at the clock when you wake up at night/morning?

I only have to get up on time when I'm offshore, and I usually listen for noises to determine the time. If I hear a roommate snoring I know it's not time to get up. If I hear nothing I assume I've overslept. If I hear doors and footsteps I know it's getting close to get up time.

Same. I have looked for years and it just pisses me off. I dont look anymore. I can fall back to sleep easier knowing it might be 5 minutes, but it might be 3 hours.

Definitely the case for me. I don't look anymore and so I never know if when I fall back asleep it's for 45 minutes or 4 hours.

Waking up to pee and seeing you have 5 more hours of sleep instead of 5 more minutes is a wonderful feeling.
This is what I was going to say. Have to decide if you roll out of bed to piss and hope to get a few more hours of sleep after. Or just suck it up for the next 30 minutes and try to finish your dream

No, because if I do I’ll stress out that I have limited time left and it just keeps me up

I have a clock that projects the time on the ceiling so its unavoidable

Yes, I do.
Strange you ask that. I woke up last night around 1:15 and felt relieved when I had another half-night to sleep.
I wake to pee annoyingly close to wake up time pretty often.

Not necessarily at the clock, but my device also displays on my ceiling, so yes, I’m checking the time…

Absolutely. And those times where I realize I have another 3 hours to sleep, when I wake up in a panic thinking it's later than expected are amazing little moments. My head goes back down on my pillow with a big smile on my face.

Sometimes I randomly wake up and I try to guess what time it is. It’s scary because sometimes I’m within 30 minutes of thr correct time.

This. I check. If I see I have 10 minutes left, I’m just going to get up for the day and dick off for a little bit. No point to try to fall back asleep

Never .
I havent owned an alarm clock in over 10 yrs (besides my phone) but i have one of those thermostats that has the time prominently displayed .. so when i wake up in the middle of the night to adjust the temp up or down- i literally have to use my other hand to cover the time display.. i dont want to know if it’s 1:30 am or 4am or whatever, becuase it’s hard enough to get back to sleep without starting to count the hours and do math .

I don't get this thread. How on earth do y'all get up before you actually have to? I think it's happened MAYBE twice in my life.

Youve never gotten up to pee in the middle of the night ? Or to lower the AC ? I find that incredibly hard to believe .

Holy frick did you steal my dogs?
If they hear one little creek they are like its time to get up!

Never gotten up to pee and I keep it at 67

I'll check my watch half the time. I have alarms set on it to wake me up. My wife used to work part time and didn't have to be up early, but the alarm clock I set to get up and ready would wake her up. Having the wrist buzz is way better than an alarm clock going off. Now that she is getting to work earlier than I am, some days when I roll out of bed she is already awake. I typically get up about 10-15 minutes before she does and pour us both a cup of coffee. My get up to pee time pretty much always falls between 2 and 3.

Pretty much this. If I wake up and the dog doesn’t move from its bed, I know there’s a lot of time left. If the dog gets up, it’s within 30 minutes of the alarm going off anyway.
