Do you like Frank Gehry's architectural style?

Personally I’m not a fan. He goes for abstract shapes and I think that’s such a played out and lazy approach to architecture, and not one where the building generally fits into the surroundings nor does it seem that it will last the test of time. I think in 40 years his structures will be seen as eyesores and the cities that host them will be anxious to take them down,

Some are worse than others, but generally, I’m not a fan. If they are built as a museum or something, I feel better about them than if they were for housing or for business/commerce.

Not only do these structures look out of place, it also seems like they don't really add any value to the surrounding areas in which they are built.

I saw one of his draft sketches for a particular building in Architecture Digest once and it looked like something a schizophrenic might draw and it looked nothing like anything in particular. I wouldn't even know how to go from that sketch to a real building.

Aesthetically, they are appalling. I’m sure the architectural feat he accomplished by making those ugly buildings fit together is tremendous.
Some of his stuff looks like Dr. Seuss or Tim Burton illustrations.

I’ve been to the museum of pop culture & it’s pretty cool. Of course it’s Seattle and fits the bill in the area. However most look out of place.

Walt Disney Concert Hall is an iconic work of art and bears some of the finest acoustics in the world. The facade seems to at least relate to that. So it’s purposeful.

Hate Gehry's stuff.
Generally a fan of FLLW but I am not a proponent of the Guggenheim in NYC.
