Hail to Clear Creek High!
To you we'll be true
We'll follow your standards
Through the years to come we'll honor you
So Hail to our school!
And let the colors fly
For we'll go on to VICTORY for Clear Creek High!
graduated over 40 years ago and still remember it for some reason.

Brother Martin doesn't even have an alma mater, they simply play the Fight Song after football games. My boys were both bandsmen.
My high school is gone, but we had a very moving alma mater. I play organ/piano, so for a long time I could play the whole thing, and it's two verses with a bridge, from memory. Had to play it a few weeks ago at a friend's funeral (he was from the last class and his classmates stood next to the casket and sang while the rest of the alums. there stood at their places and sang.)

I'm pretty sure ours was "She's Acting Single, I'm Drinkin' Doubles".

Yes - I still know my alma mater. We still sing it at Alumnae functions as well.
I was in band - but i don’t remember the music to it. The nun that wrote the music to the alma mater used to play alongside with us when I was in HS. She was ancient.

Maybe it is because they all support LSU and give zero fricks about ULM even though they go to ULM.

Kind of true..... when I was there (03-07) we played "O Sacred Heart" It was never called the "alma mater" but it was played when the game was over with the football team gathered around. It was apparently something they were trying to revive. If I recall, no one knew the words and the football team just stood there akwardly...not surprised that died.

Friend of mine graduated in '05, he said something about this. My understanding from my sons (2010-2018) is that many in the band WANTED O Sacred Heart to be used in that role, and that the Brothers (as an institute, not the individual brothers still on faculty) said no. My sons told me the band members loved playing it.
Kind of sad that it didn't take during your years.

Yup:
Though we made up our own version:
quote:
We salute you Curtis here today
In our hearts you will forever stay
May we always try to do our best
May our friendships be forever blessed
To our colors red and white and blue
Stand before the world so bright and true
For our school and country free
Fighting Patriots we will be
Though we made up our own version:
quote:
Curtis, Curtis football factory
The jocks can't even count to three
They can afford new uniforms for the team
But won't buy new books for the class
Curtis, Curtis football is the best
Football is better than all the rest
If you want to succeed at Curtis
Then you better join the football team

I only know the one that matters....
quote:
Where stately oaks and broad magnolias shade inspiring halls,
There stands our dear Old Alma Mater who to us recalls
Fond memories that waken in our hearts a tender glow,
And make us happy for the love that we have learned to know.
All praise to thee our Alma Mater, molder of mankind,
May greater glory, love unending be forever thine.
Our worth in life will be thy worth we pray to keep it true,
And may thy spirit live in us,
FOREVER L-S-U.

I went to a small private high school in Houston, and I still know the entire thing. I do not know the entire LSU alma mater.

I don't think my high school had an alma mater when I was there. They might now.
I know all of LSU's alma mater though.

Didn't know it, but got bored at work and just pulled it:
Here’s to thee, dear A.C. Flora,
Grateful students one and all,
Sing a song of praise and glory
That resounds from hall to hall,
Toward the goals of peace and learning
Through thy noble paths we’re led
Sounds the joyous cry, “Excelsior!”
As we ever push ahead.
Higher, higher flies the falcon
Soaring through the joyful days, Symbol of thy inspiration
And our aims and hopes always,
We will ever love and laud thee
And we’ll hold thy banner high
While we cherish golden memories
of each happy year gone by.

I can play mine on the trumpet, but never knew all the words because I was playing it instead of singing it.
That being said, I remember the words we made up...
“Hail Istrouma!
frick yo Mama!”
etc.

Not really but I can still tell you the chant we did after every football game we won (in the field house not on the field)
Cheerleaders always chanted GHBR GHBR during the games the parents didn’t know what it was short for
