Went to senior year of high school with a black guy who had moved from NYC. Super cool dude, ladies man, good athlete. He joined the army after high school. I met up with him one weekend when he was stationed not far from where I was living at the time. Went out drinking, telling stories, cutting up...normal dude stuff. He had a newborn daughter with his girlfriend at the time. We kept in touch for a couple years and then lost touch. A few years later Facebook becomes a thing and I find him on there. End up catching up over the phone and he tells me he is back living in NYC but is planning on moving to Portland. The whole conversation felt kind of off, but I couldn't place what it was. Not too long after that I see on Facebook he is in Portland living as a woman. Hair, makeup, boobs, changed his name, all out. Last person I would have ever expected, still tough to wrap my mind around it.

Male to female sibling.
I know personally that this person has suffered from severe mental illness.

I once worked with a guy who transitioned to be a girl. By the time I met him/her they’d already started wearing dresses and makeup but was obviously a dude. One time my supervisor had a conversation with the person and he/she broke down crying talking about how incredibly lonely they were. I genuinely felt bad for them. It’s a mental disease. They aren’t bad people but they are sick. It always makes me sad to think about that.

One of my kids. Born a girl but wouldn’t ever play with “girl toys.” At McDonalds, always asked for a boy toy. Wanted to shop in the boys’ section for clothes. Thought they were just gay but at 18, admitted they wanted to transition and started the process. It’s hard as a parent. Would be easier if they just stayed a “bull dyke”, as this is a hard road.

You genuinely sound like a supporting and loving parent, which is the best thing you can do to help your child along whatever path they choose.

The was a tranny engineer out of the Twin Cities back in the 90's. Had been on the railroad for years.

The old heads said he was an ugly guy so you can about imagine what this thing looked like as a broad.

Picture an ugly dude, about 5'10", 250 lbs in a long blonde wig.

Only worked with him once but that was the quietest cab I've ever been in. Absolutely zero small talk the entire trip.

There was a guy years ago who would watch sick porn on the tv in the farm office and supposedly walked around in high heels at home. His wife left him for a woman. This was in the mid 90s

That’s as close as I ever knew I guess. Not trans, just weird as frick

I know (knew) of 2, one is morbidly obese (+450lbs), the other took their life. It’s a mental health issue that should be treated seriously, either remove yourself or try to help, but don’t be complicit in playing along. Just my advice from seeing the parents of these kids suffer as much as them.

I don't know anyone personally but there is one that will sometimes frequent a bar I go to when I feel like a few pints and some games of darts.

He/she/it usually comes in with a male friend and they sit at the bar talking and drinking. That fricker is hideous looking since he/she/it is a pretty big guy to start off with and now sports long hair usually in a pony tail and a pair of tits (either implants or hormone induced) and enough facial makeup to be very obvious.

Then when it starts speaking you can tell it's a forced falsetto tone and not natural.......Fooling nobody but itself.

All but one of the ones that I know are because they have been patients at a psych hospital. And all of those obviously have mental health issues. The attention seeking and entitled part of their behavior is the only part that I have trouble dealing with.

Nobody is transphobic. There is not an extreme or irrational fear of trans people. It’s simply the entire world understanding there’s either XX or XY chromosomes, and those who either deny reality or those who entertain other’s delusion. Nonetheless, that shite is gross and chopping your dick off doesn’t make you a woman.
