Do you keep a second or third vehicle? How much are you paying for INS?

Trying to fight the urger of having another vehicle that will barely get used and paying INS on it.

2600/yr total for 2 vehicles now.

Hopefully someone will chime in about paying absurd amounts for their kids. Maybe that will make me feel better about another thousand in auto INS.

Several years I tried it and it basically doubled my insurance. I have a clean driver's record.

You can in some states. I know in Cali you can pay by the mile which would be nice for a weekend use vehicle

ETA: They may have it in Louisiana too. I never looked into it. My wife had it when we lived in Cali is how I know about it.

We have 3 (technically quite a few more but they’re ranch vehicles and on the ag insurance policy) I pay a stupid amount for insurance. I think it’s about 8k a year.

I have 3 and just full coverage on one. The pos car and pos truck are just slightly above min liability coverage. Maybe $200 / mth for all 3. Getting ready to add a teenager so pray for me. Thanks.

We have 3 of our vehicles insured with limited miles. There are some companies that have a base rate then pay a fee per mile. When you have more vehicles than divers it is easy to set one as pleasure only. It makes a difference but not as much as a limited mileage policy. Talk to your agent there are lots of options but you may need to change insurance carriers to get the best advantage.

You can insure one as a recreational vehicle as long as you don’t exceed the mileage limit

Have them register it under low mileage use. Save some money.

Truck and a 2001 Wrangler for tooling around. Liability only on the Jeep which is something like $700 a year so not too bad.

Actually been thinking selling the Jeep get a SxS.

I have 2 vehicles, my wife has 1. None of our kids are old enough to drive yet.

The first of mine is a 15 year old malibu that I've had for 13 years. I only drive it when I don't have anyone else in the car with me which isn't often, mainly just piddling around town getting groceries or whatever. There are definitely some issues with it but mechanically it runs perfectly fine so it made no sense to get rid of it since the trade-in or what I'd get for it in sale is so minuscule. I also have a newer SUV which is my daily driver.

The insurance on the malibu is like $50/month or something.

Start llc...title them under company. Get commercial coverage. Not a ton of savings, but usually a decent amount...but

....its a write off Jerry

When my mother died I put her vehicle in my LLC so my sister would have something to drive when she comes in for a visit. It's like $200 extra a year.

I’m paying insurance for 5 vehicles. 3 for me and the wife and 1 for each of the kids. Right at $450 a month.

3 cars, 3 drivers, and mine’s been about $2600/year.

My wife doesn’t do much driving at all- I’ve got her car at 8,000 miles/year, and even that’s probably a stretch.
