my GF is pretty good during games.

But i did take her to see Gone Girl a few weeks ago. She would not shut up. haha. I think the story really got her excited. Which made me worry a little.

Happened to me Saturday night. I yell out "WTF ARE YOU DOING JENNINGS(LSU qb)? It was the part when he didn't see the wr wide open. My gf has no interest in sports at all she was working on her laptop when I yelled she said" You need a fricking Xanax. Didn't go over well. Told her get DA frick in the room. She still mad at me. Oh well. Great thread Paige thanks for reminding me

Well the wife would not stfu. Her husband told her what an important game it was and to stop talking fifty times. She's like lemme say this one thing. It's important. Then proceeds to ask him about going on a vacation in February. And she kept reading facebook posts and asking us to look at pics and videos

I wanted to choke her. I can't imagine having to deal with that every game. Why do they even act like they like football and are watching the game? Why not just go watch the real housewives or some shite in another room?

I don't have this problem because I have an SO that actually likes football (or at least college football). She will do that stuff sometimes during Saints games, but she is 100% focused on football if LSU is playing.

It was really disappointing. We rarely experience assholes because, like I said, we keep to ourselves. But man. This guy was awful.. and that is after another guy acted like a total jerk on the way in.

When I told this random man who was being awful to my group to stop being rude, his voice cracked and he goes, "Well.. HE STARTED IT!"

I felt like a mommy to a 30-something year old man

Meh. I watch every week and I care a pretty decent amount, but I don't deal with someone screaming at the TV constantly (for things that aren't obvious matters of frustration) and acting like an idiot. Thank goodness Jones made the decision on his own to cut that shite out.

I don't need the pets hiding under the furniture and you scaring the shite out of me with a random outburst.

After that bullshite flopping drama fest during Brees' hail mary yesterday, we both jumped up in shock. Then we sat down. And continued eating snacks/chatting. There's a way to care without acting like a mental patient.

I can't cheer for the Aggies majority of the time so I couldn't do what you do.
My wife knows football well.
I analyze the games more than she does.

If we are playing Kent St or Kentucky, I can deal with others talking about other stuff.

Playing Bama or other major games not so much.

I was able to deal with the Saints loss a lot better than losing to Bama.

Superbowl XLIV has helped me greatly.

I used to care about Saints more.

I find it really odd if a woman is seriously into football.

I don't hang out with girls that do that. BUT mriluv said he went to our friend's house to watch the game and the friend invited a guy and his wife from his son's peewee football team and the dude talked the entire game. I would have come unglued if I had been there. People like that piss me off.

yes
a) she talks the ENTIRE GAME, even if she loves the team. Often times not about football. But she really is asleep or talking there is no sit in silence with her.
b) She does not understand the basic rules of football despite watching 6-8 football games a year. Every year I have to explain holding, pass interference, college FB overtime, Pro FB overtime, the playoffs, etc.

Depends on the seriousness. I care. I have friends that care. I also have friends that don't GAF.

I think there is definitely a subset of women out there who pretend to care more than they do to "look cool", which is stupid.

It's fine to care, I'm okay with my wife being a fan but if she were to provide me with by name stats and other trivia stuff that I don't know then I would look at her weird.

How about people still moping around today?

Some 19 year olds lost to some other 19 year olds. I'll get into a game...but I was sleeping 10 minutes after it was over and never gave it another thought.
