Do you have any weird smell associations?

My wife (girlfriend at the time) and I were walking into a mall back around 1999 and there was a Bennigan’s right next to the entrance. Somebody leaving Bennigan’s must have cut loose the most vile, stomach-churning fart just as we got there. You could practically taste it. 20 years later, I have still never eaten at a Bennigan’s and always think of that smell when I see one.

I lived in Dallas, and the smell of downtown office buildings there brings me back.

I banged your mom behind a McDonald's once, so every time I get McCravings I think of her.

I love the scent of crying strippers

Smell is the sense that is most associated with triggering memory.
When I was about 11, my friend and I came across the corpse of a homeless person that had been stewing in a culvert for a few days. Corpse was wearing an SMU shirt.
Nearly every time I see the SMU horse logo that stench comes back to me.

Red headed people smell like bologna to me, I know that sounds crazy but I’ve been like this for as long as I can remember. B-O-L-O-G-N-A

Ha. I used to play basketball with a group of black guys and they always said I smelled like bologna. I'm not red headed, but my mom and brother are.

Is that crazy or what? I’m white by the way

My nana (RIP) always carried peppermints and Dentyne gum in her purse. I was always digging in there to get one or the other. When I smell either one now, it reminds me of her.
The smell of sawdust reminds me of when I was a kid and hung around with my uncle (RIP) in his workshop. I many piss-poor crooked arse shelves.
Sometimes a musty smell reminds me of my first LSU dorm room in Highland Hall.

I used to like the smell of gasoline.
Till one time my old drummer and I huffed till we thought the world was ending.
Now I cant fill up without almost having a derealization panic attack

Not really, but pretty often I smell smoke when it's not there. Olfactory hallucinations are a poorly understood phenomenon, but possibly a form of epilepsy.

Creosote pilings reminds me of my grandparent's summer house on the beach in Waveland. Caught my first fish from their pier as a 4 yea old...

I love the smell of napalm in the morning. It smells like victory.
