Yes

My siblings and I are fairly certain that we have a half sister. We haven’t pursued anything about it though.

Yep. The sperm donor had a midlife crisis and bailed on his wife and few kids in his 40s.
My mom got pregnant. He wanted no part of the proof he was a POS.
His wife left him and he ended up alone.
I believe I have 2 or 3 half sisters, couldn't pick them out of a line up. Randomly saw one of their kids a while back. She's 6ft, about 250lbs and looks like a younger me in a wig with tits.
Poor girl.
Genetics are a funny thing.

My husband has half siblings. His dad and their mom aren't married but have been together forever.
I consider her children my half siblings even. Just had a nephew the other day actually.

If identical twins married identical twins, would the offspring be hard to distinguish via DNA?
Impossible to distinguish by DNA, as genetically the children would be identical.

Yep.
I have three little brothers. Two from dad, one from mom.
I still kinda consider myself an only child due to how I grew up. My parents were very young when I was born. They had my siblings at "normal" ages. I'm 11 years older than my oldest little brother. Due to living with mom more (shuttling b/t divorced parents), I'm closest with my youngest brother. I'm 15 years older than him.
My relationship with them is different than my husband and his sister. But they are my brothers. Period. I only refer to them as a "half-brother" if people ask.

Two brothers and a sister. Half isn't something I've ever thought of
Posted on 2/21/23 at 5:20 pm to SaintlyTiger88
I would not be surprised if I did.

Unknown but wouldn't surprise me. And yeah in my father's youth he dressed and had his hair similar to this.

Wait, what ? you couldn't pick any of your half sisters out in a line up, but you could identify one of their kids ? How do you know she wasn't just some ugly amazon who happens to resemble you ?

My mom’s first husband died in a truck accident when my older sisters were both under 3. She married my dad a couple years later. My brother was born and 6 years later me. My sisters have been around my entire life. I love them dearly and there is no difference in our relationship.

My only sibling I know is a half-sister (no pics). Same mom different dads. Her dad stepped in and raised me along with our mother, although divorced. Never would even think to consider her anything other than a "full sibling".
I also have three half-siblings that I have never met.

I have a have a half brother and half sister. My mom had them with her first husband. My sister was born in December, my brother the following October, so they are 10 months apart.
My mom's husband at the time left her right before my sister turned two, in order to be on the road to play music.
Several years later my mom and dad married, then 10 years after my brother was born, I was born (I was a mistake proving there are mistakes that create great things).
Being the younger one, to me they were my brother and sister. I think it was when I was a few years old when their dad decided he wanted to be part of their life. As for as they were concerned, my dad was their dad, but I think the only reason I knew early on that they were my half siblings is because their dad wanted to become involved in their life.
My mom kept in touch with her first husband's mother. I think she felt some responsibility when her son left and since he didn't have a 5 to 9 type job and was making just enough to get by and not helping out my mom, she helped her as much as she could.
To this day, their dad and his wife have treated me like family and there is no bad blood between anyone. He explained to my brother and sister that when he was young he was an idiot. He was chasing a dream and ran away from his job as a father.
As for as our relationship, I am in communication with both of them more than they are with each other, but we go months without communicating. My brother's son is my god child.
My sister has two children, one in his upper 20s, the other in her mid 20s. Her son's wife and my sister had it out and a bunch of crazy shite happened and about a year and a half ago, they and their 3 kids pretty much left over night. She thinks they moved to Tennessee but she has not talked to them since. Her husband (my sister's) is a bit of a nut case. He would shine if he posted on the politics board.
My brother's son is a good kid. He is 20. Had no plans to go to college, the week after he graduated HS he started working a temporary job until he turned 18 that July. He had to be 18 to apply for the job he wanted. A job at a company that does some type of fabrication for materials needed by chemical plants.
My brother told me he received 3 raises since he been there. Spends as less money as possible. He still drives the used truck he drove in HS and wants to have as less bills as possible for as long as possible.
I told him to keep a cash stash, put a small amount in it every time he gets paid and never tell whoever he marries he has it. He said "if I do marry, it will be to someone who will not need to know where my cash stash is".
Anyway, got of topic.
