My accent isn’t too thick, but I definitely have a southeast Louisiana drawl. Surprisingly enough, some of my friends that I grew up with have different accents and we all grew up on the North Shore. A few of them don’t have none at all.

Apparently I have a really thick accent, anyone outside of the state has trouble understanding me and people outside the country ask if im from texas.

Yes, my New Orleans accent has lessened. Much of that is by design (for work) and also living out of state since Katrina.

I still get asked quite often what New York burough I'm from.

My voice is very neutral. I’ve had people ask me if I was born somewhere else.

My accident has gone away since moving out here but when I drink it comes back in full force. I have the Brooklyn sounding New Orleans accent.

Nope. But I have a bad habit of using phrases like “fixin to” or “y’all” occasionally.
