Not too often anymore, but I used to all the time. What's the problem with it? Moviegoing isn't exactly a social experience anyway.

Going to the movies by yourself is awesome. Finally realized that a few months ago. It's perfect for something like a Sunday afternoon when nothing else is going on.

I did once. It was one of those early morning showings, like 9AM. It was nice. Only cost about $5 for a ticket since it was so early.

When I travel for work, it's a good chance to catch something the wife or kid wouldn't like.

frick yeah. Nobody's trying to eat my popcorn. Nobody's constantly fighting for the armrest. Nobody's bothering me to explain what's happening. Going to the first showing alone at 1 or 2 in the afternoon on a weekday is a fricking grand thing. The ticket's half the price, you sit where you want, and ENJOY the movie in a near empty theater.

More so in the summer when I'm off and the SO is working during the day. Best time to go see stuff that I don't want to drag him to and dirt cheap.

hell yeah, I love doing it. The tricky part is that my wife and I like the exact same movies with the exception of horror movies. So when I have a day off (I get every other friday off) I'll go to a movie if it is something that I know we either won't get a chance to see (we have a 2 year old so we are selective these days) or something that she has no desire to see.
I saw Alien Covenant by myself a few weeks ago. Her exact words were "it looks just like every other Alien movie" so I said "ok", and went by myself.

Ever since the dark knight incident, the city made going to movies alone illegal. Theaters now have attendants that you can go with for an additional fee.

sure when i have a day off. its great to go at like 11:30 when tickets are cheap and the theater is empty
