What does he do?
Well he fusses about everything. Cussing like a sailor around the kids. Yelling at everyone for every little thing. Just being an overall pain in the arse. He doesn't get belligerent, and can get sloppy and stumbling. It just really clashes with my personality, because I am really laid back and whatever. He and my SIL get all bitchy and they start fighting, and it upsets my wife. He's been like this as long as i've known him, he just drinks more now that he use to.
The amount of miller light he nailed while we were on vacation last year was astounding to me.

Mine are awesome. I usually see them twice a week, and I have no problem with it.

My In-Laws >>>> my parents. And I get along great with my parents. But my parents are crotchety and stuffy. My in-laws have mandatory cocktail hours and a private plane.

I don't not get along with my in laws. But I'm also not busting at the seams with excitement when I get to visit.
I'm also heading straight to a divorce attorney if my wife turns into my MIL. I think my wife knows that already though.
Are you me?

I get along with them
But the are 1200 miles away, that really helps

Extremely pushy unknowing people who think they should be waited on and praised for everything. They show their arse anytime we try and bring them somewhere nice or around people.

My in-laws have been divorced for 35 years. I get along with my father-in-law. He's a great guy. His wife is also great. Feels like family.
My mother-in-law is crazy. My wife is well aware of this. I avoid her as much as possible, but of course that's not always going to happen.

Show your work. Why?
They're all dicks to each other and they get pissed at each other when it happens. But they only talk about the other ones' back about it instead of confronting them in person. They won't even acknowledge the other one's comments or actions out of fear that it will only stir the pot.
They talk the talk but fricking crawl backwards into a hole when it's time to walk the walk.

Amen brother. Stay out of our fricking life.

I get along well with my in-laws. My FIL really enjoys watching football (more so than my own dad), so we bond over that. He doesn't have any sons, so I feel bad that he doesn't have anyone to watch football with. He also really likes bourbon, so we bond over that, too

Here's a cool story (bro) that illustrates why I can't stand them, and this happened before I was even born.
My future in laws have been married for about five years. They have a nice house. Father in law's brother comes home from Vietnam, and isn't sure what he wants to do with his life.
So FIL and his wife say "Hey, you don't have to settle down right away. Come stay with us, we have an extra room. You don't even have to pay rent. Just cover the electric bill."
Brother just out of the service accepts, but decides to travel a bit, meet up with an old girlfriend, see about a business deal with someone from his company back in Nam. So he drops his stuff and leaves for a month. The day after he leaves, my future in laws go out and buy the biggest most expensive cold blowing air conditioner available in 1970 or whatever year it was, and blast it on maximum 24 hours a day. In Texas.
Brother comes back in town a month later. He has spent a total of 2 nights at FIL's home, but they hand him an electric bill for approximately $458,124,033,532.
My in laws still live in Texas. That's why I hang my hat in Tennessee-I mean Vermont.
ETA: $ is hyperbole. A lot of $$$$$ is what I'm trying to say.

Got along beautiful with my in-laws. Ultimately, it was their daughter I had trouble getting along with until we finally divorced. After they saw what she drug in with her about a year ago, I never looked so good. The fuss my ex-father-in-law was making about my being on the other end of the phone line almost made me feel sorry for the poor bastard as he was in the room at the time. I said ...... "almost". Through feedback from others it is my understanding that they would give damned near anything to have me back, and I might have even considered it at one time, but the less I see of my ex, the better. Besides, she's in her mid-50's and is a dead ringer for what her fricking grandmother looked like in her late 70's. No way I would want to wake up to that in the morning.
So while the divorce hurt like hell, seven years later I am concluding that my side of the deal is looking better every day.

Yes, but I really wished somebody on my wife's side liked football.
It's annoying when we visit on the weekend and a game is not on the tv and everybody is sitting in the living room with the tv off.
