Do you get along with your in laws?
Yes.
But they have douchey moments, but I could have done much worse.

Thankfully, my in-laws are great. They wholeheartedly welcomed me and told my husband he definitely ought to marry me when he and i had only been together a few months.
I do think that the circumstances of how my hubby and I got together helped. We were all doing hurricane relief and fire dept stuff, working together for weeks after Gustav hit. By working together so much and doing such an exhausting job in rough conditions, we developed mutual respect and a good relationship in so many different way.
I was able to develop a relationship with my MIL, FIL and husband's siblings and their spouses that really cemented our closeness.
I am so thankful for that because we have 4 generations of the family living on family property. Our houses are about a half mile apart from each other so they are not too close but they are our closest neighbors in 3 directions.

Same here. My former in-laws are the only ones I truly miss after the divorce.

Right?
My previous girlfriend's parents were the worst. I swear I was at a family function (for my girlfriend at the time) and heard some of her relatives seriously talking about chicken fighting. They were a bunch of cowboy rednecks, and their daughter still lives in their backyard. I dodged a bullet there

My father in law was a great man. I went food shopping today for my mother in law. Says it all

Most people don't love their in laws. Your wife probably doesn't worship yours. They're just one of the many issues you have to deal with in a relationship. But if you have a solid relationship with your partner and she's worth the effort, and you're not a selfish dick, you should be able to agree on how to deal with them together. It's all part of the give and take of a relationship.
