But most Evangelicals are going to have a tough time. Jesus ain't your pal....or bro!

I probably agree with this statement, because “most [so-called] Evangelicals” are as misguided and ignorant about the Gospel and more broadly all of Scripture and its millennia of solid exposition as other “traditions” are.

And Jesus certainly isn’t “our pal.” Which is why I detest the “He Gets Us” campaign as disgusting and heretical.

“Philos” (the Greek word for “friend” as Jesus used it in John 15) definitely did not connote buddy or pal.

Leave it to some blowhard to self interpret my meaning of clean, only to reinforce my meaning by saying it differently.
You feel better for some reason, hearing yourself talk? What a jackass

Yes, clean means

You shouldn't because abstaining when you are supposed to is actually following the Catholic dogma. People who have not gone to confession or church in a while and are still receive communion should be the ones that feel ashamed.

If you were born in Middle East, China, India, or possibly Caribbean, this post reads differently!

Your beliefs are more proximity-dependent, like SEC team loyalty.

If God wanted it different, it would be different.

Therefore, have a great relationship with God. Don’t let proximity or any man-made parts of religions cloak you into anything different or feeling ashamed.

Then there is no reason she cannot receive communion.

I have my reasons for taking a small break from the Catholic church.

My "If" was meant as more rhetorical in terms. I do believe it is but there are many that don't.

I've never heard of this being the only reason a Catholic, in modernity, can no longer receive communion.

Can I show that to the judge that gave me alimony and child support?

There years later, I converted. Greatest single decision I ever made for myself. Been part of the mother church for 32 years. No regrets.

Hope you are giving a lot of money. Pope needs it to pay for silence and lawsuits the pedophiles unleased for decades.

They said it was because their priest told them that celebrating our marriage is a sin since it wasn't blessed by the church :lol

This is a sad example of Catholicism in 2026. Seems like the Protestants lack on to this type of discourse and run with it.

I have a friend that wants the LORD'S supper every Sunday. If the church doesn't do it, he moves on to another. Smells legalistic.

I am not ashamed nor embarrassed that I did not allow myself to be groomed by pedophiles.

The messes of Protestant churches (even ones based on sounds historic Christianity) should be enough to prevent this sort of stone throwing.

I hold them all to the same standard. Systematic cover up conspiracies (not theories but actual conspiracies) obviously are going to be a bigger issue with a more homogeneous organization such as the Rome/Vatican.

And I don’t pay much attention to televangelist cults and apostates such as Andy Stanley, Hillsong, and the prosperity types.

But the crap we’ve seen from Burke Parsons, Steve Lawson, and Josh Buice shows that the enemy prowls like a roaring lion looking for those he may devour, regardless of his prey’s otherwise sound doctrine.

...this is the reason.

Your feelings on the Church are more important than her feelings on the Church are.

Post the lab results, and we’ll go from there.

Eta: i have already established on this board numerous times that literalist transubstantiation is unbiblical for a host of reasons.

Now let’s just see the science. If the elements LITERALLY change (we aren’t talking about spiritual or symbolic or anything other than literal change here) then you should be able to show me the scientific proof of that. You’ve gone beyond faith and Scripture. So the onus is on you to show me the LITERAL results. Go.
