A sovereign nation with a democratic republic form of government being replaced “peacefully” by a theocracy would surely open the world”s eyes to the conquest by asylum seeking immigrants tactics being deployed /s/ (sarcasm font intended but not available).

As far as some kind of religious apocalypse, that concerns me about as much as Freddy Krueger.

As far as a nuclear holocaust or deadly pandemic similar to The Stand or 28 Days Later, no, not really. I think the odds of that in my lifetime are very slim. Plus, I am 47 and don’t have kids. I have already lived most of the best days of my life and don’t fear for a future beyond my existence. I don’t want society to crumble, but I don’t have as much stake in the future as most people.

The Apocalypse will be a massive solar storm that takes out all satellites, most electronics and the power grid, which could take months to years to rebuild. With power out and no grocery stores or medicine, it won't take long for society to descend into chaos. It happened in 1859 with the Carrington event and there's no reason to think it won't happen again in the foreseeable future. There used to be a tv show with almost this exact same scenario named Revolution. I was very interesting to watch and think about what would really happen if it actually took place.

Don't worry. We will all die from something boring like heart disease or cancer.

No, but the climate change folks keep telling me it was supposed to happen already.

Worry? No.

Do I think it could happen as in the movie version destroying the whole world? No.

Do I think it could happen as in Biblically? Yes. In what's left of my lifetime? Not sure.

I really wish I could live forever because I want to see how everything evolves. I believe at some point something apocalyptic will happen. If it can happen, it will.
