I generally spend money on something stupid every month. This month it was a new top of the line rod and reel and I'll likely buy a new .22 rifle tomorrow.

Yeah but that's just spoiling yourself money. Think we're talking about the unexpected punch in the dick expense.

I am 25, not married, no kids, car is doing ok, live in an apartment.
I’d say most months I don’t have any surprise expenses, but I make up for it with a gambling’s addiction and eating out every meal

Hey jackwagon, it's a $500,000 house and the AC on the living side of the house is the one that is broken. The sleeping quarters are cool as a cucumber.

I don't often have surprise big expenses, but I have what seems like a lot of big expenses that aren't part of my monthly plan such as insurance, car taxes, property taxes, etc.

It won't be anything close to what she will cost you once she's driving age. She will seduce you in a daughterly way to buy her a car, pay for her insurance and any maintenance associated with it. Paying for her gas will be the cheapest thing about it.
