At the beginning of each month I convince myself that this will be the month I finally don't have some huge unforeseen expense pop out of nowhere. I'm always wrong

That's where I was setting the bar. It may not be necessarily 1 thing, sometimes it's 2 or 3 that add up.

The example today was my wife transferred her vehicle title from Iowa to Louisiana. It was $800 because of some insane retarded road use tax or some shite

Every month for the last 219 fricking months(entered real world in June 99). Was my calculation correct?

Since I bought my first house and pair of dogs, no. There's always something expensive as frick that's broken.

ETA: and it doesn't help when the wife has like every friend she's ever had all getting married and having babies at the same time. The money/time commitment for all that shite has made me such a miserable frick. Feels like there's constantly a Bed bath and beyond charge on my credit card for some BS shower or another

I swear when Youtube started becoming useful for DIY shite around house and car ~2005, I was so giddy I could pee my pants.

"How to replace Tail Light Cover on a 2001 Honda Civic."
"How to install a gate in an existing fence."
"How to Install door speakers in 2000 Honda Accord."
"changing Brake pads on [insert 4 different vehicles]"

to name a few i recall that saved me a few $$.

Nope. Every month:

Me: "Wait, WTF is the cc bill so high this month?"

Wife: "oh, remember we had to pay for/buy/fix xyz."

Me: "Oh yea, OK, so other than that, it's about average. Should be good next month."

Repeat forever.

I have paid $1500 this month for traffic tickets, tow charges and car repairs for my dependents. That’s after last month with my daughter going off to college and all those expenses. And the month before that over 2 k in dental and medical. And before that....it just never ends . On paper it’s prosperity, IRL it’s just never ending bills.

Yep..this week it was the fricking title transfer, I needed to buy a new generator just in case so as not to lose our freezer full of breast milk, and last weekend I had to buy a new alarm for the house.

I look ahead to next month and think, gee can't think of what I could possibly have to spend an extra $1-2k on...but I know it's gonna happen

My daughter is only 6 weeks old, but I'm horrified to think what she will cost me in a couple of years

I just paid $4085.00 for an implant for my #10 tooth and after 2 months of wearing this plastic tooth I get the pleasure of going to my dentist and buying a $1000.00 crown to fit over the $4085.00 post.

Over 5k for one tooth. Not to mention I look like I just walked out of Appalachia.

Yes this is every month for me too.

Last month my 2 year old daughter was sick, then my 5 year old son got sick...and then he gave whatever he had to my 2 year old daughter and she got sick again. Dr. visits, medicines, groceries...all that crap added up while they were sick for the entire month of September.

Occasionally
Last month it was new carpet for 2 bedrooms and hall.
Now, I'm sitting in a hot house because AC broke yesterday.
