I had a friend that went to jail for about 7 days in BR and he said they fed him a turkey neck. He didn't know what it was and had to ask the brothers how to eat it. I'll be honest that I've never seen or tasted one either

The wife and me ordered some turkey necks boiled with crab boil tonight, first we've tried them. They were pretty damn good. It was a funny coincidence that someone started this thread tonight.

I've put a turkey neck or two in a gumbo before during the cooking process but I take it out and discard before serving

I find it helps flavor the soup base

Wondering if maybe I should eat it next time

Do you really have people regularly trying to convince you to eat turkey burgers?

There is a reason people say "Going Cold Turkey" and its not because it is an easy thing to swallow.

You can’t tell the difference.

Actually, false—they’re better than beef burgers

I've never looked for turkey on a menu at a restaurant.

I won't give you the whole story, but I was working shift work at a plant and did farrow to finish. Hy-Vee decided to give a free ham with every turkey purchased. Then they made turkey ham and turkey ham. I and my progeny will eat the REAL stuff. You vegans and such can fuk right off.

I agree with you except they are right about meatloaf.

Turkey meatloaf is way tastier and oh so much healthier than beef meatloaf

You can’t tell in spaghetti sauce or taco meat if seasoned correctly. I actually make some mean turkey veggie meatloaf cups which my kids love. They only eat like 5 things and that is strangely one of them.

That being said, a burger is a burger. You can hid it with other food but you can’t with burgers.

Turkey sucks. It’s good once a year when you fry one. Other than that, pass.

It's good when it's hot and juicy straight from the fryer/smoker/oven but the twelve lbs of leftover turkey in the fridge is disgusting. And even freshly carved it's not as good as chicken.

But I've never met these turkey cultists the OP warns of. Although I've encountered similar disturbing enthusiams toward Subaru and Apple.
