Kids eating in the car = no longer nice vehicle.
That's an entirely different thing than letting an adult eat in the car.
Anyone who has ever worked in a restaurant knows how absolutely fricking messy kids are with food.

I washed my truck for the first time in about a year yesterday. The layer of grime keeps the paint looking new
I'll wash mine when the last snows and sanding have melted and been swept away.

Are you driving a classic for your daily driver?
I have a 'classic' daily driver that gets washed maybe once a month. I just don't give much of a frick about having a clean and shiny exterior at all times.
I actually think the way someone treats their car reveals a lot about personality.
And values. You can't take your car with you when you go. My kids can take memories of me that they'll have after I'm gone. It's not going to be that daddy always had a car that looked brand new. I get maybe washing your car a few times a week if it was a big part of your job...but that's it.

Not vacuuming my rig til clamming season is over. Have sand from one end to the other.
One trip to the beach and it looks the same so screw it.

I just cleaned the car seats and they are disgusting
No more food in my car, you hear that kids

Yep, I'll wait until all the snow and then "breakup" is over

Exactly. It’s a depreciating asset losing value every single day whether you use it or not regardless if you spill some soda and fries in it.
Now if it’s some classic car that actually appreciates in value the I can understand

It rains so much in South Louisiana that it's rarely clean looking more than 3-4 days. My truck is a tool. I keep it up mechanically and don't purposely dent or scratch it but it doesn't have to be spotless.

Neat freaks weird me out. I work with some, it's definitely an OCD thing

Me too. I'm not a slob but definitely somewhere in the middle.

My only gripe is thst the fatso inhaling the burrito will likely demand I pay for her health care.

My desk, my car my kitchen and bedroom is spotless. The other parts, not so much. I know I have a problem so I don’t put that kind of pressure on my family.

I like a hot meal while stuck in traffic

Im a very practical person. Not messy, not spotless, but very utilitarian.

My desk is pretty much chaos. We live in an older ranch style house. The common areas are usually pretty tidy. The bedrooms get messy occasionally.
We have a couch in our bedroom. I throw my work clothes on it and by the end of the week it's a pretty big pile

To the OP: Rarely does the occasion come up that someone is in my car and we get drive-thru food.
I guess I would let them eat in the vehicle.
I did historically when my youngins was youngins.
Plenty of drinking occasions still and I have no problem with that.

I don't when I can avoid it, but I do when I have no choice.

I shouldn’t anymore since I flipped my Jeep opening a whopper but I still do on long trips

I draw the line at having a crawfish boil in my vehicle.
