Halloween obsessed people are creeps. Had some folks with decorations up first week of Sept. When did a kid focused 1 day holiday become a 2 month event primarily for adults more than trick or treaters?
Seems super weird to be into the Halloween theme for weeks on end. Go all out if you like, it's fun for a few days maybe even a full month but I prefer not to see huge yard skeletons for 2 months.

We put up some Halloween stuff, but honestly the 2 month long "spooky season is my favorite!" thing is too "Disney adult" for me.

Amazing work by our corporate overlords to hyper-commercialize Halloween over the last decade. If you don't have a 15 ft Jack Skellington on your lawn for a month you're a broke bitch.

I decorate for July 4th. Hallowe'en isn't really worth the time to do all the decorations, and Christmas decorations come out so early in the retail stores these days that by the time I would feel like getting around to it I have become nearly sick of seeing it.

Christmas.
Halloween decorations mostly look pretty trashy. I enjoy the folks with the time and money to do it up nice. But I’ve only got so much budget and so much storage space. And it’s reserved for Christmas. My Halloween budget has room for pumpkins and a few potted mums. That’s about it.

Wife goes crazy on Halloween, I go crazy on Christmas.
She grew up being deprived of halloween because of the devil, so in adulthood she celebrates it extra.
I'm going to heaven, and unfortunately she's going to burn in hell.

Christmas is a one day holiday with a focus on kids with Santa Claus. Both Halloween and Christmas are Pagan holidays, Christmas is just a repurposed version of the winter solstice.

My wife mostly decorates for fall, though she has some Halloween decorations we put out on the front porch when we hand out candy to trick-or-treaters.
Christmas is a different matter. She turns our house into some sort of Christmas village, complete with three Christmas trees downstairs and three more upstairs. In fact, my model room is the only room in the house that doesn’t get dolled up for Christmas.

Halloween I have a bunch of outdoor decorations, nothing really inside.
Christmas has a fair amount of lights on the house but not much else outside. Quite a bit of indoor decor, along with the tree.
Probably similar in total, just executed in very different ways.

Some of the Halloween stuff is getting pretty over-the-top. I liked it when things were a bit more modest. When I was a kid, I had a few cardboard pictures of ghosts and witches that I'd tape to windows, and I'd look forward to carving the jack-o-lantern. Went trick-or-treating one time as a ghost, wearing a simple sheet with two eyeholes cut out.
But now I see yards completely decked out with giant skeletons, tombstones, guillotines, spiders, etc., to a ridiculous degree. Worse, there's one yard I see in which the dismembered heads of baby dolls have been put on the fence spikes, replete with painted blood around their neck area. Gee whiz. Talk about tasteless. Just seems to be draining the 'fun' out of the holiday and replacing it with a kind of warped, serial-killer chic.
