I think work ethic and personal drive are far better indicators of a person's income and health.

They are both effects of a person's habits than either one of them being a cause or effect of each other.

There's a lot of things you can "blame" obesity on but poor ain't one of them.

It's cheaper to buy healthy, filling food that you have to cook. It's easier to pass through McDonald's on your way home. Path of least resistance.

I'm willing to bet that foresight and the ability to plan ahead are not characteristics commonly found among most of these individuals.

However, lots of poor people (who work) are working lots of hours with low wages and unpredictable hours. That makes it more challenging to prepare good nutritious food.

Also, processed food can be cheaper in bulk (and lasts longer) than unprocessed foods, which makes them more appealing to the poor.

Furthermore, as mentioned before, being poor can cause severe depression. Severe depression can cause poor lifestyle choices. Eating high fat and sugary foods are among those bad choices.

This isn't always the case but it is a factor.

Nope. My mom(no pics) was single with 4 kids, made 30k a year and no welfare. We ate well. You might eat the same spaghetti, beans, gravy, etc 3-4 times that week but it wasn't fast food and it was in general healthy. None of us are obese and we all cook for our families.

Fat people are lazy and for the most part generally poor. Most fats lack a college education too.

Sounds like a recipe for obesity and heart disease. Carbs and calories in the rice, beans and potatoes, fat and cholesterol in the eggs.

Not all obese people are poor, and probably a minority of poor people are obese, so that theory is bullshite.

I was actually typing out something very similar to your 3rd paragraph when I realized I didn't need to repeat it.

Poor people are fat because they act on impulse not reason. The frozen dinner or #5 from Burger King looks better than baked chicken and veggies. Impulse is also why they have bad credit, use hardcore drugs at higher rates, have unwed pregnancies, STDs, etc.
