I get that it's expensive to buy fresh produce and meat, that it's time consuming to cook, and that access to supermarkets is difficult to a certain degree in some impoverished neighborhoods.
But, that said, I think the argument that statistically more poor people are obese because they're poor is just a false perpetuation of the victimhood culture.
I don't care how poorly educated a person is, everybody knows that pizza and cheeseburgers make you fat. I refuse to believe that people literally have to eat fast food every day because they're poor. The most cost-effective meals are things like rice and beans, eggs, and potatoes. It takes effort to cook them, and some desire to learn how, but the idea that healthy, un processed food is just totally unaffordable for poor people is bullshite. That said, I think they should have classes in the public schools that teach people how to cook basic, affordable dishes.
This idea that "I'm fat because I'm poor" is just all part of the culture of victimhood that is destroying America.

I eat because I'm unhappy, and I'm unhappy because I eat. It's a vicious cycle...

Being poor is an excuse, obese people just don't have any self-control. Also, obesity is very relative, you should use the term "fat".

I believe a lot of people are poor because they're lazy. I also believe that a lot of people are fat because they're lazy.

A lot of people are obese because they are lazy and that is also the reason they are poor but there are obese people that are genetically predisposed to be obese.

No. It isn't. Less expensive than the shite in a box and to-go meals.

When you get 1k monthly worth of yamps, you eat as much of whatever you want.

They are not unrelated but there is a difference between causation and correlation. And a lot of people struggle to grasp this.
So no.
So no.

Agreed, I'm fat because I eat like I'm still hitting three leg days a week and running on the other days.

I wonder how many pounds overweight the average person in this thread is?

We used to live in a world where poor people would grow there own vegetables. Thankfully, our Democrat leaders have changed that forever.

I think this, as much as anything, is why low-income individuals attribute their overwhelming dependence on fast food and prepackaged meals.
If you are a single parent working multiple jobs and with multiple kids, then I suppose you are in a bit of a time crunch.
However, I am willing to bet that such cases are far rarer than most welfare advocates would dare to admit.

They are both fat and poor because they are lazy. Fat does not cause poor, poor does not cause fat. Lazy causes both.

I think that they're obese and poor because they're stupid.

They are obese and poor for the same reasons....they are lazy and make poor decisions
