Walk me through this. Not getting enough protein while losing weight=bad. Not getting enough protein while being fat=not bad?

Probably true, but for obese and especially morbidly obese, the weight loss is probably still a net positive despite the protein and corresponding muscle deficiency. I could be wrong. I’m not an expert.

A lot of people will just get fatter once they stop it.

Also probably true, but a lot probably won’t as well.

If used to assist in a lifestyle change that has a chance to stick, I think the drugs have a chance to make a significant positive impact on health as any drug I can remember.

so its anti catabolic but destroys muscles?

how fricking stupid are you?

we have 108 week studies showing that if resistance training is added and 1g of protein is kept at 0.8g/lbs of bodyweight that you lose less than without the glp but way more bodyfat and adherence is way way higher

good try though to try and say because you saw guys/girls eating 500calories a day and 35g protein while not lifting lose muscle that it must be the medicine huh?

guess thats why so many high level bodybuilders are using it to cut huh? too lose all their hard earned muscle

look if you dont want to use the medicine cool, dont give AF, i dont use it either. If you want to assign moralistic views to losing fat like so many want to with other PEDs and muscle gain, fine but thats fricking stupid too, but gonna call you out if you just make up dumb shite.

Most of those "side effects" are because the behemoths taking Ozempic try to eat past the point of fullness and the medicine punishes them for it.
Maybe that's what happened to the instructor in a continuing education class my wife was attending. It was a 2 day deal, they broke for lunch, came back, and the instructor shite her britches and started projectile vomiting. She'd mentioned earlier that she was on it. They had to cancel the class and the half day didn't count. They had to restart the class in its entirety 2 weeks later.

Going through all of that when all most folks have to do is push away from the table for a week and train their mind that they don't need 3 full meals a day plus snacks in order to survive.

you want to lose fat, not muscle. You need muscle because if you lose muscle you will just become skinny fat. Just because the weight shows you being lighter doesn't mean you're healthier. You can eat a ton of protein, stay the same weight but look leaner. You need to lose fat

That didn't address my comment at all.

and they only look older cause they have stretched the skin past the point of elasticity. but atleast they will make it to being old now.

most of these things can even be avoided with hormone manipulation through use of ghrh/ghrp therapy and the use of GHK-CU to help skin elasticity.

Its about losing lean body mass.

When they are fat, they are likely consuming adequate protein (as well as a shite ton of everything else).

When they get on Ozempic, they eat less, the shedding of lean muscle mass is an issue, so its important to focus heavily on protein intake when on these drugs.

Rapid weight loss of any kind (like bariatric surgery) results in muscle loss if you aren’t doing activities & consuming protein to counter the loss. This is not remotely unique to semaglutide.

Also, a person weighing 300 lbs needs more lean mass to support that size than a person weighing 170. Some muscle loss is logical.

Think a lot of these people will be on it forever. I know 2 people on it, one needs to lose weight for health reasons, the other is lazy and doesn’t goto the gym or diet and wants to lose weight for vanity and continue his lazy lifestyle.

I’ll bet one of them gets off of it quickly and keeps the weight off and the other will be on it forever and continue being unhealthy in other ways.

I'm curious to know how much protein a middle aged, overweight person needs? My guess is not that much. If they have low muscle mass, it probably has more to do with getting little to no exercise versus not getting enough protein. Most Americans take in way more protein than they need.

The problem is most protein is icky

And can you imagine asking Burger King just to give you the meat? They’d probably laugh at you

The real side effect is that the fatties will continue to eat like shite (even though they may lose weight) and will die early anyway. Never will learn discipline.

Why would you assume that? Eating "enough" protein is actually pretty hard. Most fatties aren't getting fat because they're loading up on lean meats.
