Which one was the Great Recession? The Jimmy Carter one or the Bush/Obama one?

You can be dismissive if you want, but that doesn't change the effects of the economic recession on several cohorts of young workers. I find your perspective to be not only wrong, but also snide. And that is exactly the point of the OP.

You are missing out then old timer. Entertainment, information, communication, financials/investments, shopping, news etc all right on one little device.
Have much more time to enjoy life when you don’t have to go to a bank in person, don’t have to go to the library to learn about something, or go to a store to shop

I do understand that the early 1980s were tough for a lot of people -- especially between 1980 and 1982. But the Great Recession was longer (2008-2012) and more devastating.
So, to answer your question -- the latter.

I've been using the Internet for quite a long time, Sonny. I can even do it on my Iphone. I just don't live on it and text all day.
Just keep your head in your Iphone. Maybe you'll walk into traffic.

And none of that would be available if not for baby boomers.

Ruined, no.
Worse than "millenials", absolutely.

Thanks Barney Frank and Chris Dodd. Guess what? We also let them craft Dodd Frank to try to fix what they fricked up. Isn't that grand?

Lol...my company has hired at least 6 millennials in the last two years, guess how many are still there?! Zero. They have no concept of getting work done on time, pressure to design this project. They’re too busy updating their Facebook page to give a shite about real work.

People who came of age in the 70s have been through 4 recessions at the least, including the latter

LBJ had a big part in it.
1964 was a huge turning point in America's history. Gulf of Tonkin and the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Thanks LBJ

All anyone wants to talk about in these threads is the economy.
The biggest problem with boomers is their destruction of American culture. Their selfishness, materialism, and lack of family values is responsible for a huge % of this county's woes. They invented keeping up with the joneses, went into debt, and didn't save for retirement. most important, they were the first generation to widely accept divorce, destroying the traditional American family.
