I was once told by a baby boomer "kids these days don't know how to get jobs. I didn't have much, no fancy suit. I wore the best clothes I had and several years later my boss told me that the reason he hired me was because I looked like I needed the job more than the others because of the way I dressed. Ended up working 36 years there".
