Yeah, but the cost of living today has skyrocketed inflation.

Millennials voted for Barrack Obama. That hope and change netted them a man who doubled the national deb from GWBt, but now turn their focus on baby boomers. We went from worse to much worse.

Vote for big bullshite promises, and when they deliver to get re-elected and the debt goes up because we don’t and never did have the money for it in the first place, that’s not baby boomers fault necessarily because they’re baby boomers. This is a political idealogical problem that pulls on the emotional heart strings of Americans, and academia is pumping that shite into millennial’s heads like it’s going out of style.

Liberals don’t know the meaning of the word budget, and republicans forgot what they believed in and have become just as bad.

Truly, it’s a national idealogical epidemic that got us into this position we are in, not a generational one.

While I know people love to blame presidents, especially Obama, for every problem in the world. The national debt growth was inevitable. Do you remember the state of the economy when Obama took over?

I guess you think Trump's tax cut is going to make things wonderful right? BTW, I am not a liberal.. Not a conservative either. I am a registered Republican who considers himself independent.

I don’t agree with your premise - the USA is not ruined and is still the greatest nation in the world.

Most food stamp recipients are required to have a job and pay taxes. Does that mean they aren’t on welfare?

So Social Security and Medicare are now “welfare” ?

They are the definition of social welfare programs.

It's not their fault they were forced to pay into a government retirement fund that was stolen by the government. Ponzi scheme. Hell, I'm 41 and I'm all for shutting SS down, but I want my money back. They should get theirs. If you have paid in you should get yours back. Our government is nothing but a den of thieves.

When I was 40, I used to say the same thing. 60 and I still would take what I paid in. I will never recover what I paid in in my life.

If you think this country is ruined, you must be a millennial. Most millennials adopt that attitude the day they realize they actually have to work for a living. I see them every day, hanging on their cell phones instead of doing their job.

When I left my parents home, I left with nothing except for my clothes and a strong work ethic. I didn't blame my parents for not giving me a cushy start in life. I went out and found a job and worked my way up the ladder to a six figure income.

The world changes. That change is inevitable. You can blame boomers, or government, or China, but in the end you make your world what it is. You think the world felt good growing up in the 50's and 60's? Nuclear holocaust appeared imminent. The war in Vietnam was claiming hundreds of American lives a week. The draft. Political and social unrest. It wasn't pretty and that was passed on to us by the "Greatest Generation".

If you let yourself get sucked into thinking someone or some previous generation is responsible for your shitty world, you will miss the boat. My world was shitty too, until I got off my arse and did something to change it. You need to read up on default realities vs alternate realities. And if you still think this country is ruined, you need to go spend some time in Mexico. You will soon understand why people are pouring across the border to get to this terrible country.

This country was on the precipice after 1929. The Republicans just had nothing to offer. Hoover was a disaster.

Also, I for one am glad we had FDR in office and not someone like Huey Long.
