No.
Why would anyone discuss this?
That said, eff paying 4-5% on CC purchases of any relevant amount.

That's nothing .

Making payments on a beater or a first driver is pretty ignomious. I can see how someone would feel inclined to point out that this is simply a fiscally responsible choice and not a necessity born out of poverty.
I drive old, used cars and don't mind telling people I want nothing to do with car payments as I get no thrill or pleasure from getting from A to B so I might as well take advantage of those savings and use them towards things like travel or sports, which I do enjoy.
Some people are just car people or creatures or comfort. For them financing an expensive car makes the juice worth the squeeze. That's cool but it's just not me.

I have to pay cash now.... I cant afford the monthly notes anymore.

I tend to use cash for most things but I'm old. Do I announce it? I don't believe so.

No. I don't discuss purchases with anyone, unless I'm trying to jew down a hooker.

Used to work with a dude who love doing this. He would borrow $ from 401k and pay for new car, then post pic of the title on FB showing everyone he paid cash !!!

Who gives a shite if you paid cash for something. I really don’t understand why that’s such a “brag.” If the APR to finance is right, it’s actually pretty dumb to pay cash.

Hos are savvy these days. They know to look at the stitching on the bottom. It's easier to tell them I'm going down the street for $5 less.

I was behind an elderly lady in the checkout line and she did exactly this.
She waited until she was told what she owed then proceeded, very slowly, to go through her purse to get the checkbook and begin writing the check.
Hell, back when it was a common practice to pay by check I'd at least pre-write the check with the exception of the amount owed to speed up the process-------------------not his old gal.
Then, there's the required ID presentation that most stores require and that was more digging into the purse. Gets a bit frustrating dealing with that in today's world.
