For the most part, I think it is. But hey, it's somewhat entertaining.

Yes, I do as well. Big cold stuff first, produce, cans, then eggs, chips, bread.

I'm not too picky but ... yeah ... meats go in bags by themselves and I don't want drain opener in same bag with anything edible. Other than that not too picky.

My wife has an aunt that puts her canned goods in alphabetical order in the pantry.

Yes. I'm super picky about it. Bag boy was my first job and it just stuck with me.

I do, I try to keep my cold stuff together, so it will be bagged together. I also try to organize for space purposes on the belt.

i usually do frozen, boxes, cans, drinks, and fragile things last. But this is usually done for the convenience of the clerk. I could care less if my mest is in the bag with my cereal

Definitely. Heavy things first -- 12 packs, dog food, etc. Cans. Boxes. Non-food. Frozen. Cold. Dairy. Meats.Produce. Chips. Eggs. Bread. I get testy if they put meat in with anything else, too. And you are right. I dont want meat juice on other stuff. Once my son was touching a pack of chicken (I had my back turned) and the butcher said "Boy, you dont want to touch that. The outside of those are terrible." Yeah, dont want it snuggled next to my Cheerios.
