Yes. I do this too in almost the exact same order. I put my bread at the very end so that it returns to the front cart spot. Then I also arrange bags in the car so that the unloaders (sons) know what order to bring bags in.

This guy. I don't hesitate to correct bagging mistakes. I also avoid the wet spots on the conveyor belt.

The thing I really enjoy is watching people set up to unload their carts. More than half don't understand they should stand behind the conveyor belt and push the cart into the checkout lane as they unload. Instead, they walk into the checkout lane with the cart behind them, which makes everything harder. Cracks me up from a distance, but pisses me off when I'm behind them.

Wait. Why is this?

I stand in front of the cart beside the belt

Definitely. And I also arrange the items in my buggy as I place them to speed up unloading onto the conveyor belt. Heavy items like cases of water or tea against the back, milk and cold heavies against those. Dry food items together, cold items together with meats separate from boxed cold & frozen. Non food items in the top of the buggy if possible.

Then I unload the heavy stuff first since I want it at the bottom of the buggy when I reload and go from there. I like my system. Oh, and I may be a little OCD but I prefer to think of it as efficiency.

well what if you put your bread and eggs in the upper part of the basket, since you want to put them on last. If that part is unfolded, i cant reach the bottom of my cart if i am standing behind it. Then what do i do?

I unload from the from of the basket.

I actually do. Kind of an OCD thing. Veggies together, meats together, bread products, box products, toiletries, booze. All in separate levels. It bums me out when they don't bag it accordingly but hey, I would think it's annoying if someone asked me to bag it that way.

I use my own grocery bags and two can hold a good deal of weight. So, yes, I put all heavy things together. Big things don't go in bags and breads and fruits go in another bag. Can't stand the idea of all that plastic ending up in landfills.

All I said was "oh, will you please not put the meat in with the cereal?"

Try it the other way and you'll see. You'll no longer have to stretch to reach the back of the cart, and because the cart's always in front of you, it's easy to push it out of the lane when you're finished unloading, i.e. you don't have to scrunch yourself up or get cozy with the adjacent cashier to slide it by you.

I just automatically assume the person is of low intelligence when they say OCD when they mean something trivial that bothers them.

Maybe, but if you think about it, it really isn't that much more effort. You pretty much know what you're buying when you go to the grocery....at least I do. So if you just think about it as you go through the aisles, it's pretty easy to organize everything as you go. And since I want to spend as little time as possible in the checkout line, this makes unloading and bagging go a little faster.

Oh, my bad, meant nothing by the OP. I just stopped asking cause I didn't wanna both 'em with my weird shite considering it ultimately doesn't matter.
