Black or taupe tights in the winter, forget the panty hose. When I first started working years back, the ladies had to wear hose. And had just begun to be allowed to wear pant suits. Not too many years later, hose were shed and clothes are worn one would have been sent home bc of wearing. Yes they sent home for inappropriate dress at one time.

Did Spanx replace girdles?

Topless in a half-slip looks hot. Have not seen since the AMC Pacer.

I'm afraid that wearing slips rather went away with wearing nice dresses. Now explain a "Garter Belt" to the neophytes here.
It was rather embarrassing when someone spotted that loose garter buckle on the floor of the back seat.
