I recall them being instant classics over the years. All I could find were these from the News Star

Or were they not supposed to?

Well kiss my grits; I didn't know Monroe even had a Mardi Gras.

They do. Instead of beads, they throw Johnny's Pizza from the floats.

That looks like one fricked up Mardi Gras.

Damn, people who live in Monroe to begin with have to give up something else for 40 days?

The Monroe Mardi Gras is fricking awesome. I missed it for the first time in years due to baseball games and wasn't happy about it. Hopefully Tina Earl enjoyed herself this year

does is still smell like shite in Monroe when you drive through?

Only when the wind is blowing from West Monroe.

Y'all can say what you want but my family and I had a blast. It brings the community together, brings support for downtown which they're trying to revitalize, and is just lots of fun. I've been to plenty of Mardi Gras parades in South Louisiana and they're different, but the Monroe one is good too.

West Monroe. It's the paper mill that makes it smell like shite.
That's one ballin arse Mardi Gras. I thought cameras were forbidden. I'm glad some brave news star reporter sneaked the camera in to document the festivities. I wonder what those baptists and pentecostals are giving up for Lent
