I used to have some type of background noise on to help with sleeping but that changed several years ago. One year the house I was renting had poor heating whenever the temperature dropped below 40 degrees. I would turn on a space heater to help heat the bedroom, but to also have some background noise to fall asleep to. One night the nextdoor neighbor's house burned down and I never knew anything was going on. I never heard the firetrucks or any commotion outside. Thankfully no one was hurt, but ever since then I want it quiet in case some shite goes down.

I still feel awful about that night for not helping anyone. The houses were on fairly large lots (1 to 2 acre) so they were not butted up right next to each other which is probably why the firefighters didn't bust down my door. When I went outside the next morning there were emergency vehicles parked in my driveway and the neighbor's driveway. Their house was completely burned down to the foundation with everything lost.

I got an air purifier a few months ago. I crank it up to high at night, and I now sleep like a baby.

Yes...I got stuck on it when living one block off a double train track in a small town were 50+ trains ran daily. At least they don't blow the whistle in town.

Now out in the country my wife and I are hooked...albeit we keep the volume low. I'm a light sleeper and will still hear and wake up for any abnormal noise.

Brown noise on Alexia is best

Agreed. I've tried many and brown noise played thru my Amazon Echo on my nightstand is my favorite. Thunderstorm and rainforest are good too.

I started sleeping with earplugs and either a fan or white noise because we have dogs that like to bark at night. The earplugs take it to the next level.

Yes, I prefer brown noise over white noice. Brown noise is a deeper, low-frequency sound with more of a bass tone and less of a hiss than white noise.

Yup. My mind races at night. It gives me something to focus on when I need to relax and sleep.

Wife can't handle a fan (sinus related) so we have 4 noise machines in our bedroom. For both of us, if you only have 1, you hear a "noise within the noise."

I don't use a sound machine.

I use Propofol and a hyperbaric chamber - just like Michael Jackson, the King of Pop.

Yes, every night for decades. I keep the sound low so I can hear unusual noises that might need to be investigated.

No, but I always have a fan running. Tinnitus is a bitch when it's quiet.

I’ve slept with some noise since I was little. Not sure how anyone can fall asleep in silence.

You have three dogs living inside your house with you? I’d rather sleep with a sinus infection instead of air pods just so I wouldn’t have to smell that shite.
