I like to fall asleep to podcasts. Nothing that makes me think too much. Just history stuff or even stuff about cryptids. Knocks me out every time.

iPhones have noise machine sounds built in. Newborn baby has a hatch sound machine and now anytime we turn it on I have about 10 minutes before I fall asleep.

I use a real box fan and also bring it on vacation.

Yes. I have a fan on my nightstand that I can't sleep w/o.
I also leave the exhaust fan on in the bathroom overnight.

I have a battery powered fan that I take when we go camping.

Sheesh a lot more people use those than I would’ve thought. Maybe I should try one soon

Yep. Runs in the family. My grandmother was a night nurse and slept days, used an old Marpac like this:
My mom used one on us when we were babies and toddlers.
When I got older, parents would stay up late watching TV in the den next to my bedroom. Either a sleep machine or oscillating fan helped to mask that noise and I got used to it. It's too quiet, or too loud otherwise... since college I have my own Marpac, and a battery-powered machine for camping trips.
Bring them on vacations everywhere. Thought I was in trouble in Switzerland this summer - I plugged the Marpac into the wall with an adapter; the different electric current fried the motor and tripped all the circuits in the hotel room. Thankfully, the room had an oscillating fan that I used during our visit.
But I ordered a new one online and it was waiting for me when I got back home.

A few weeks ago, during this drought, I found a good rain track on youtube. Never tried one, worked great. Some don't have the rolling thunder quite right.

I like the b25 propellers... lower tone

Every night it "thunders" in my bedroom. Helps me fall asleep, along with a dehumidifier that kicks off and on.
So jealous that you get to sleep in a Rainforest Cafe.

White noise podcast every night on Alexa. I set a talking podcast which transitions into that, usually after I’ve already fallen asleep . I like one with thunderstorms and Tibetan bells. I love that I wake up in the morning and go 5 minutes before I realize it’s on.

Yeah, SpongeBob streaming on Paramount+ does a pretty good job.

If I sleep in the master bedroom, no. The fans are enough noise. If I sleep downstairs I leave the TV on or put one of a black screen storm video on YouTube. I don't work until 3 hours after my husband so I tend to stay up late and go back go bed after he leaves.

I've tried them all, Brown noise on Alexia is best. Well, a real, old school box fan or window shaker AC unit is best.

My sound machine was a snoring bulldog till he passed.

We have an actual box fan at home for mostly sound but also to move air around. But when I travel for work to hotels I use a sound app on my phone. Dead silence kills my sleeping. Especially a hotel A/C kicking on and off all night. Loud to quiet wakes me up.
