My bad arse 2 year old 12 ton Harbor Freight "Heavy Duty" bottle jack leaked out about a cup & half of dark oil all over my garage floor. Jacked it up to make it easier to get under for trailer light work. Left it up to watch Cavs/Celtics and went back out to a nice mess.

My fault I guess... didn't realize my 20 foot aluminum with 115HP motor weighed 13 tons.

Apparently that 20.00 you saved by not buying AMERICAN wasn't worth it. Nice cleanup. Use harbor freight shop towels.

Yep, that's why I bought a 12 ton. Figured the most I would ever pick up is 2-3 tons. That's why I bought the 12.

Many years ago I bought some drill bits from there. The first bit I used bent. I pretty much stick to welding wire, abrasion discs, cutting wheels, etc... and odd stuff like angled pliers, etc...

I got what I paid for.

Wait, you’re underneath heavy shite and have a harbor freight tool standing between life and getting squished by a bug? Talk about a death wish

Did you have the pressure release valve completely closed? If not, the hydraulic oil can weep out around the fitting when it's under load.

Generally speaking, Harbor Fright are junk, but they serve a purpose and fill a market niche. I like to think of them as disposable. If I lose or break a Stanley tool, I'm pissed. If I lose or break a Harbor Freight tool, I usually don't give a shite.

Despite the questionable quality and even value of many HF tools, you did make a fundamental mistake. Jacks are for lifting things not hold things up, that's what jack stands or other shoring if for.

I only buy harbor freight tools when I’m in a pinch and only plan on using it one time. I don’t buy for HF for long lasting durable tools Every baw knows that!

The only thing HF hand tools are good for is heating them up and bending them for that one time, hard to get to place. I'm guilty of that.

Also sold at Home Depot.

Stanley tools are junk? What brand hammer and tape measures do you buy? Silly question ... as an OT Baller you don't use tools, but if you did they'd be custom made.

Since you asked and this is a tool thread, Center Point is one of my favorite tools I own. You can find the center of any two points instantly.
