I don't think I've sprained my ankle before. I wonder if it is just your anatomy.

There are some people have even with the slightest tweak can't walk or run normally.

You must not be very active if you’ve never sprained an ankle.

I was extremely active growing up. Just last week, I was walking down a hill and there was a hole, and I turned my ankle, where all my weight was, and just got up and didn't feel anything.

I'm no doctor, but yeah I think it makes sense if you stretch the ligaments holding your ankle bones together multiple times, you will have a higher probability of repeating the injury later on

I have a weak wrist, I damaged it when I was young and had recurring injuries throughout middle school and high school. I haven't hurt it in years, but it still aches from time to time. I obviously don't play sports as much(forced in PE or otherwise) as I grew older. I do enjoy outdoor activities, but they are pretty low risk for wrist injuries. The most common cause for my wrist injuries was catching myself falling towards a hard floor, usually a basketball court. I did injure it once when I fell at work, my heart rate just went to near nothing and I passed out, doctors blamed exhaustion after working countless days on end after Hurricane Gustav.

I tore all 3 ligaments in my left ankle playing basketball in 8th grade. I’ve sprained/rolled it countless times since then I walking on uneven terrain or if my shoe catches a certain way, I’ll just fall over like a sack of bricks

you might have circulation problems. your legs probably need to be amputated ASAP

Definitely. My ankles are plenty strong for running (done a number of marathons), but "side-to-side" they're so weak I can barely stand on ice skates.

I used to sprain/twist mine often from basketball in my 20s but it’s been over a decade since I’ve had a sprain. I know they can take a while to fully heal, even if you think it’s healed.

I also run hills now and do other exercises that help strengthen them. The Foot Rocker thing has been a good addition.

I’ve always wondered about this because I was very prone to ankle sprains playing sports growing up. I’ve probably sprained an ankle at least a dozen times in my life. I have very high arches and have wondered if that has contributed.

Of note, I’m also a clutz so that may have more to do with it.

Yeah I swear my high school days I had one long ankle sprain. There's no telling how many rolls of tape I went through trying to keep my feet attached to my legs.

It really sucked.

I've rolled my ankles hundreds of times and never had a sprain.
