Boots are very popular in Mexico, aka Texas. Not so much in the Southern states.

Not true brother. It depends on the industry I think. Walk into the corporate office of a construction company and it'll be 50+%, in a hospital not so much

I lived in Dallas from 1983-2011 and hardly ever saw anyone wearing boots with slacks. Ft. Worth and Houston yes, but not really that common in Dallas. Dallas the TV show should have been set in Houston. Houston was much more like that in the 80's.

Bottom line is baw, they aren't as common as they are in Fort Worth, Abilene or the Houston suburbs but they are perfectly acceptable footwear in the Gulf Coast

Maybe not to your face. But people will talk.

I work for a large company. We had this young guy in sales who wore the same cowboy boots with his suit every single day. I guess he was trying to make it his thing. I can't imagine having to wear a suit every day and choosing thick cowboy boots as your shoes in July-August in Alabama. It looked much better on casual fridays when he wore khaki or dark pants with them but it looked foolish in a suit.

I think you have to be professional.

If you wear a suit, you should wear clean and occasionally polished footwear.

That said, I don't know many people that take care of boots that welll. Boots are better with jeans, aka no need to polish or clean. I imagine that this is why we don't see more boots with suits.

If a Mississippian laughs at you over anything it's your right to knock them the frick out. Pretty sure it's in the constitution.

As long as you're not in slacks, you should be fine.
