Posted on 2/9/23 at 6:39 am to TackySweater
Absolutely. And bring some beer and chairs and make a day out if it. Meet new people and talk BBQ.

Kind of sad. I can go to Sonny’s any time and get bbq in 5 minutes. Just another example of Texas copying something from Louisiana and messing it up like when they try to boil crawfish

corkscrew in Spring will have a massive line each day
Corkscrew has great BBQ. I be been many times and there is a line but I’ve never seen a massive line. Heck I’ve never waited more than 10-15 min.

I have just never found BBQ worth waiting for that long. It isn’t that hard to cook and find people are more snobs about “good BBQ”.
This, Cuetards are really annoying. The worst ones give people grief about putting sauce on it, they insist that the meat should be good enough to eat without sauce. Just STFU and let people eat food.

I guess if I lived in Austin or Dallas I could see the appeal but when visiting it’s at the bottom of my list of things to do

I'm not waiting 5 hours in line for anything.
BBQ
Free stuff
Concert Tickets
Doesn't matter.

I watched a youtuber wait in line there, ordered a bit of every meat they had, and some sides, it all fit on one large tray, and he said he paid a little more than $400. I love good BBQ, but not that bad. Make my own.
$400?
That sounds like some bullshite. You can order a pound of all 6 of their meats, 1 of each of their 5 sandwiches, a quart of each of their sides, 12 slices of their pies, and a dozen Lones Stars for under $400. I mean depending on the size of the tray you could pile it on but you could feed a lot of people with that unless they are some of the competition eaters on youtube. It isn't cheap food but if you order literally their entire food menu you should expect to spend a little dough.

try about 10:30-11AM on a weekday then. the work lunch crowd will certainly create a line out the door and longer.

That’s when I go. I have been in the line out the door. Still no more than a 10-15 min wait. I guess we have different definition of massive.

It’s mostly tourists(in Austin, specifically). Most locals are forced to avoid the tourist spots for casual dining, but will go there on occasion. Locals often know when to avoid crowds or know which BBQ joints aren’t really as touristy.

Would you travel 5h for anything? Would you tailgate for 5h for a big lsu game?
I’m calling Bs there’s not something in your life you wouldn’t waist 5h for. Or have an expensive hobby which is just time traded for money.
Let people do what they want with their money and time. And you do you.

Time consuming and technical does not equal hard. You’re stance is elitist bullshite. Go wait in line with your beard baw

City Market in Luling is my personal favorite and the wait is usually short (a few minutes) if you get there around 11 on a weekday.

A friend went to Snows last July. Got there at 5:30am and was 264th in line. Family in front of him drove in from Minnesota and behind him was a college group from somewhere up North.
Snows owner gives out beer. He said lady from Minnesota wS wasted by the time she got her food.
