But you are actually a bit high, the average American drives ~ 12-14k miles per year

Let's say gas goes up $1 per gallon.

If the average American drives 15k miles a year (high end), and the average vehicle gets 25 MPG (low end), that's about 50 gallons of gas consumed per month.

That's an extra $50 a month, an extra $12.50 per week. It seems like people blow more than $50 a month on all types of dumb crap.

Obviously rising fuel prices drives everything else up, but I'm speaking more to those focused on what they're paying at the pump.

And yes, I know some of you drive vehicles that get 13 MPG or whatever.

We love inflation for our salaries and the things/services we sell. Can't stand it for the things we buy.

Man, it's a bitch.

Unless you run a boat 4-5 days a week. Then it gets a little more sticky

I don't even know how this became political.

Because the only reason gas prices are high is due to a war of choice the current president started with/for Israel

This thread wasn't asking why gas prices are high, or even referring to current gas prices. I was just asking why people freak out when they have to pay a little extra at the pump while wasting hundreds of dollars a month in other areas of their lives.

I don’t even pay attention to it. I just fill it up and go on about my day. I’m not going to walk, or ride a bike, or worse, bitch about it.

I passed three gas stations this morning. $4.19, $3.99, $3.84. The wild inconsistencies are crazy.
