Or is it just foreigners that want to stay in the country and liberal women that can't get jobs in whatever dumb thing they majored in.

When I was in grad school at LSU I was the only US citizen…1/2 the students were from India, 1/2 from S Korea…teacher breakdown was very similar.
ETA: I did not get a PhD…mostly because I didn’t have an undergrad in it…was just looking for an applied physics masters.

My Sister in law has one..
Took her 10 years to get it and now she manages a gay bar in Perto Rico.

PhDs are for people who want to get paid higher salaries and stubborn enough to complete the degree work.

Few and far between, buy they exist. Many PHDs also really really like themselves, and they let you know it.

I mean, have you interacted with many phd candidates? You cant hide from facts behind your self righteousness forever.

Knew a guy with a PHD named Stephen. Complete arse hat about it. A lady was taking his info down at a conference and she asked "is it spelled with a v or a ph" and he responded "it's actually PHD". I wanted slam his stupid face into the table.

No, the amount of time/money/effort and sometimes intelligence it takes to obtain a PHD is abnormal.
