Yes

Some. But one thing I miss from 2010ish models is blind spot mirrors. I'd take that little space in the corner of the mirror over the damn sensor any day.

Be aware, there are newer cars that include fewer cameras than older cars, because of the supply chain issues on parts after COVID. They just delete them from the build and have the original buyer sign a form that no additional equipment is expected.
That's how I ended up with a $63k car with only a backup camera, but my older trucks had cameras in the mirrors, the front grate, etc. And I lost wireless Carplay in a newer car, when I had it in an older vehicle.
Any car produced after late 2020 needs to be scrutinized.

My 2017 Tesla Model S100 keeps getting better with the software updates. My full self driving is almost perfect

No, it doesn't keep Tesla owners out of the left lane when not passing on I-10.
But your point is well taken, LIDAR, and everything else has been present for a long time in vehicles that aren't Nissans missing doors in Nashville.

I'd love to have one too. A basic one goes for about $13k in the Philippines.
The Stout looks pretty nice too.

Im happy as long as everything is keyless.

I do like the back up camera for putting a trailer on the hitch. You can back perfectly up to it. Also makes parking spots nice because you know exactly how close you are to the vehicle behind you.

You know you can actually buy vehicles that will stop her from doing that? They can actually sense imminent impact and auto stop.

I had all that on a 2014 Lexus.
It’s now $40k more for the same model with a powertrain that’s already been recalled and what appears to be a large iPad strapped to the console.

Good for you.
I have zero issues with more safety sensors and tech being widespread. I see too many easily preventable accidents that could have been avoided by simple safety systems that reacted before the driver.
Prevention is worth a pound of cure.
Did I wish things cost less money? Of course. I also wish steak wasn't umpteen dollars a lb.
Everything is more expensive, and everyone's cost along the way to get goods to you is more expensive.
I'll still take keeping my family safer. Priceless

Hands free driving - best feature ever. Drove to Clemson for the game and back, and was never fatigued.

You’re paying a 30-40% premium on the purchase price for some sensors that cost the manufacturer $200 while getting a vehicle that won’t make it to 125k miles because they were forced by the government to install fuel efficient engines and transmissions that weren’t ready and are now blowing up at unprecedented rates.
And again, the safety tech you think you’re doing it for was already in many older model luxury vehicles at the lower price point.
You, me and everyone on the road right now is being absolutely screwed from a cost and reliability standpoint.
There isn’t a single vehicle being produced that’s more reliable than it was pre Covid and they cost 25-35% more.

Another laughably predictable outcome of the government allowing foreign nations to control feed lots and US farms because they were bought off by lobbyists.
The government is either laughably incompetent at everything they touch or they want us poor, unhealthy and in crippling debt to purchase subpar goods because it makes us easier to control.

Awesome! Now, I'd like one of those with low to no mileage and a warranty. Oh and without any problems. Oh and also it needs to be compatible with the latest tech.
I get your point. But I'm not currently existing in your 2014 Lexus world. I'm not even in the car market right now, and may go that route when I do.
It's similar, sure. But not the same.

Me too!
My point is that we could have that but car companies realized they could just increase prices and hide them in longer notes while selling subpar products because most consumers would rather drive an overpriced subpar product than have their neighbors think they’re too poor to buy one by driving an older vehicle.
Now that Trump walked back the CAFE efficiency changes in theory the car companies could just add the older V8s back to the trucks and SUVs and reduce prices, but not one of them has.
They’re just embracing the lower quality / high cost model because until consumers stop purchasing which there is evidence that’s happening for Chrysler / Ford / GM there’s no reason for them to change.

I will not own another vehicle that doesn’t have the air conditioned seats, my back gets hot so those have been game changers for me.

I would pay a lot of money to not have any of that stuff installed on my next truck. I don't need 99% of it but it's mandatory thanks to the feds. I wish I could snap my fingers and recreate my fathers 92 F150, that thing was awesome and reliable. Trucks suck now.
You are so right. A free enterprise system manufactures a good 5 cent cigar. A bureaucratic federal government produces an overly expensive 10 dollar cigar.
