Young kids, no I do not allow any at all. My teen will let one slip now and then but as long as its pretty run of the mill like damn or something lite like that and not directed at an adult I let it go.

My son is 19. I heard him call someone a cracker on Xbox when he was 12. I cut him off
He said a-hole today and I was silently offended. I never cuss in front of my mom
Letting young children cuss is incredibly classless

I think the entire concept of profanity is absolutely ridiculous. How can a stretch of sounds be bad?
That said, my kids are not allowed to cuss simply because of public perception.

When I was about 10 I said ‘vuck’ around my parents. They looked at me crazy. I then said, “I can’t get in trouble because it’s not the real word. Vuck, vuck, vuck, vuck, vuck!!”
My dad took me upstairs and lit, me, UP!
I’ll do the same with my kids.
No profanity. No matter the word.

Nothing wrong with cursing, but you have to know when and where is the right time to use it.
If you're a child under 13 and you curse in front of your family, you'll never gain the discretionary skills to know when it is or isn't appropriate.

My son towers over me but he knows I would grab the nearest chair and slap his face if he curses in my house.

My dad was an airborne ranger in Vietnam and stayed on for 30 years and retired as a Colonel.
When I was about 10 years old I got in trouble for cursing at school. He told me that nobody gives a frick what words you use when there are bullets flying at your head in a foxhole. So my family has always tolerated cursing. Just not in public or really outside the house. Frick it

I only have a son in kindergarten but he'll be cutting me a switch well into his teens if he slips up around me or his mama. Just how it is
I saw the video recently of bill Simmons on the golf course where his 11 yr old son called him a pussy. And i was listening to a podcast today where some kid about the same age called a basketball ref an a-hole in front of his dad
But those are california types so probably not the best example

My daughter will probably be taller than my wife in a year or two. She gets a little sassy with her sometimes but she's scared of the dad voice

My son's are 25 and 23 and they are not allowed to curse around us (especially their mom). They are both in the Air Force, and I guess it is part of the culture (they didn't curse hardly EVER before joining).

I'm a grown man that has fantastic relationships with my parents and I converse with them like I would with any other adult, cursing and all.
Told my dad the other day he was full of shite when he said he finally bought that big green egg he's said for years that he was going to get but just never pulled the trigger as it wasn't urgent. When I realized that he was serious, He grinned and said he finally got that son of a bitch. We ate some good ribeyes from the first try that night.
And I told my mom that this woman we know and is very close to us, is a lying slut because she's been jumping from random dick to random dick and keeps ghosting family and friends after making excuses. Mom just nodded her head yes.

agree, bad juju/parenting to let the lack of respect start in the home, I'm a hypocrite in that I throw around cuss words all the time, but I know when to reel it in, taught my kids the same, including the sir and ma'am part, and never cuss around my Mother, don't even order a beer/drink in front of her if we're at a restaurant, it's just respect and it carries over to how you interact in society
