Actually, cursing is linked to higher intelligence. Lower IQs are trashier than higher IQs

I will teach my son (7 months old) that it is trashy and rude to curse.

But it will be hypocritical because I curse like a sailor when I'm at the house. I've really got to work on it. I don't do it at work or around people very much, but I like a good F bomb at home

My uncle told me when I was young it was a lazy minded person that cussed. Except for 6 months in HS I never have with a very rare exception. Last time was when my truck fell collapsed a jack.

You do not get ANY warning that a truck is about to fall and collapse a jack. NONE.

I do, but I care less about my use of it around them than my parents did. I'm not a potty mouth by any means but I let the c word slip about every day around my kids.

My kids are 29,27 and 25.. If either of them cuss in front of me or my wife they'll say "oops I'm sorry"... In return, we try not to cuss in front of our fricking children.

quote:

Curse words can help you more accurately communicate your emotions, which contradicts the folk belief that people use profanity because they lack vocabulary skills.

“This is the ‘poverty of vocabulary’ myth, that people swear because they lack the right words due to impoverished vocabulary,’’ Dr. Jay said. “Any language scholar knows otherwise.”

Dr. Jay was the co-author of a 2015 study, published in Language Sciences, that tested the ability of people to generate words beginning with a given letter. It ended up debunking the poverty-of-vocabulary myth.
