Do most people still care if their children use profanity

Im talking like 8-9 yrs old and up. My wife (no pics) pointed out to me a few friends we have, not typically trashy, let their kids get away with using profanity here and there. Not aggressively or F bombs left and right or anything, but thinking its cute when they get mad or excited about something
ex. Something is bullshite, so and so is a dick etc
Is this like a cool parent thing or are we in an age where between internet and social media some people just figure its pointless to be hardline about it

No my daughter isn't allowed to cuss around me. She says "that sucks" sometimes but that's about as far as she's allowed. She's 12.

I think most households with educated parents still care. Not a good look for your 8 year old to run around using profanity.

I absolutely care and my kids aren’t allowed to curse at all. Or even say mild stuff like hell or sucks.
And I should add I’m not some super strict Nazi dad or anything by any means. Their mom and I just raised them to see that as rude and not classy and that cursing filter at least around adults is on.

If they curse around a parent, then they'll cuss out a teacher, a cop, a judge, a prison guard...

With kids, the more you let them get away with, the farther they'll stretch it until you no longer have any control over the situation.
Let them start cursing, even mildly at 8-9 and by the time they are in their teens they'll be telling you and the wife to go frick yourselves and calling you both assholes.

My 15 yo son cusses like a sailor. A honor role , all of our neighbors, friends and coaches always tell us how much they appreciate his manners .

No, I do not let them curse or take God's name in vain around me.
I will tolerate mild vulgarity if it's well done, though. An example: when my middle daughter was 3, I yelled for her to hurry up and come to dinner. She yelled right back, "Hold on, I'm takin' a dump!"

When my daughter was about 2 she threw a piece of sidewalk chalk up in the air and it came right down on her head. She turned and looked at her mom and through her nunu said "Ahhhh shite".
The glare I got from my wife was memorable because I say that a lot

I'm 32 and have probably cussed 2-3 times around my parents so there is no chance in hell my son is going to cuss around me

My kids are not allowed to cuss, I really dont care, and I know that they will cuss as older kids and adults. It is just a way to insure they respect those around them by modifying their actions.
Until they go to LSU and scream about sucking Tiger dicks because it helps score touchdowns.

I still watch my mouth around my parents and I’m a grown man. That’s just being respectful. If I’m around nothing but adults, no big deal

I have friends who let their teenagers curse and I think it's pretty trashy.
