Give him your wife’s number and have her thank him for actually being a man.

I ran into the same situation last week. Having a little back problem lately and didn't want to even get close to picking up and leaning over with a battery. Gave him a few bucks.

Um... you want a cookie or something?
I know I'm fully capable of changing a car battery on my own. I also know that if the car won't start without a jump, I can jump it off, take it to Auto Zone where they will check the battery and I can buy a new one if needed. Which they will install and immediately take the core credit for. Otherwise, I'd have to buy the battery, drive the car back home, change it, then drive back up to Auto Zone to get the core credit. Sort of seems like a no brainer if you ask me.

A lot of OT posters are really insecure and care too much what others think of them. They need to prove that they're "superior" to others on a message board. It's sad.

Tip him 5 or 10 bucks.
Yeah yeah, anyone can do it. But buying a battery is easier if done at the store. You think I want to pay a core charge, go home and swap the battery, drive back and get the core charge money back, just to prove I'm a real man?

This. Hell I had a lady at autozone come out and put mine in, she insisted. Did I need her to? Nope, but she even hooked up my truck to a portable battery so I kept all my preset shite.

You let another man change your car battery?
You should just give him your wallet and invite him over to frick your girl too. Because that's how he feels about you.

If I buy a new battery I have no problem letting the guy at Autozone, Advance Auto Parts or wherever do it right then and there. They install it for free and take the old one. It’d be silly if you didn’t get them to do it.

Every situation where I’ve needed a new battery the car wouldn’t start so I left it there, drove another car to get one then came back to change it myself. That’s just my experience.

Since you are unable to complete a simple task that any man can do yes. Do u vote democrat?
What if he is a Republican and got a Democrat to change the battery?

I can pour a drink myself.
But sometimes I pay a restaurant for a drink and tip the guy who pours it

It's literally a free service when you buy the battery.

Do you have too much money laying around?
Posted on 7/16/20 at 9:53 am to lsu xman
Yeah, I might give the Autozone dude five bucks for changing out the battery.

The only time I ever tipped a guy was when the guy at the O'Reilly couldn't get my old one out. I had an old Jeep I was selling, and it had sat for a while. Had to use my new truck to jump it off to get to the store. There was a little corrosion, and the O'Reilly guy couldn't get it loose, and suggested I take it to Pep Boys down the road. So I had to use the new battery I just bought to jump off, then drove it down there. The mechanic even had trouble getting it off. But it took him about 15 minutes, and I asked him what I owed them. He said no charge, and it was around 11 AM so I handed him a 20 and told him lunch was on me and thanked him for his help. He even took the old battery and disposed of it for me. I wasn't worried about the core charge.

Yes I would think it would be the correct thing to do. When I was younger and worked as a technician at a car dealership I used to do simple stuff like this for free, and try to refuse tips. It was just something I could do to be nice to our customers who may be in a rush trying to get to work what have you. The offer of the tip and thank you was reward for me, but $5 or so is a nice gesture on your part.

Yes, of course, at least $20.
Per cable right?

I don't keep a car long enough for the battery to go bad.

Yes tip the person. They aren't making much to begin with and that's their problem, but it goes a little way. I don't think some people on here realize how much of a pain some of these new batteries can be to install.
