Yes and No

Have to have an inspection done to get registration. Registration sticker is the only sticker needed.

Yes, the registration and inspection are now one sticker. You have to have your car inspected before you can apply for registration.

Yearly registration and inspection

It’s just one sticker now.

You go get your inspection and then you go do the registration

Your vehicle has to pass an inspection and its gets logged in a database. Some larger counties require an emission test as part of the inspection. Some do not.

To renew your registration they check to make sure the vehicle has a passing inspection in the database.

You register your vehicle and they only sticker you have is the registration sticker.

Stupid, I agree. Why have to “register” a vehicle every year?

The Miz just changed their law on safety inspections. No inspection necessary in 1st 10 years or 150,000 miles.

For us it's about $80.00/car/year all totaled.

I'm not sure if the County or the State sets the fee. I believe it's rolling depending on the year of manufacture and the category.

And don't change the battery beforehand

Yes. The sticker is your registration sticker. You can't get one without passing an inspection.

At one point you could get a 2-year registration(might be new cars only) but I don't know if that has changed.
