You never had to remove it.

Why do people ask questions here that can be answered with a 10 second Google search?

shite... Florida is trying to make this a thing here, now

It’s the same Nextdoor effect. Someone asks about help with xyz. Invariably someone will comment Oh I would help but am in the Azores and won’t be back ever again.

I never put my front license plate on when I lived in California. But I carried it in the trunk incase I ever was stopped by a cop. (I didn't like the look.) I never was stopped in the 17 years I had the car.

No front plate on either of my Mustangs. Never been a problem.
You just not spend much time in rural Texas

I don’t think it’s required, but Jesus has one on the front of his Cadillac driving around Jackson.

Most states where it snows regularly require them.

Yep, here in Virginia I wouldn't put one on the pristine Terminator I bought from someone in NC.
My 05 Rubicon has one, but it's been mangled to the point by rocks, brush that it be hard to read anyway.

Required but not enforced
Lived in Texas for 11 years, 3 cars in that time and never put a plate on front of any of them.

Speaking of license plates, this is about to be our new abomination:

We have to have them in Ca and when I lived in Mass we had to have them.
Been pulled over once in 10 years for not having a front plate, and that was in NorCal countryside. Watch, I'll get pulled over this week for getting cocky about it.

Negative ghost rider. After living here without a front plate on 4 different cars for 25 years, I got pulled over in Cherokee, TX. State Trooper gave me a warning for no front plate. It was the actual reason he pulled me over.
I’ve been living in population dense Houston for over 30 years. I’ve never been cited for not having a front plate on any of my vehicles.
The law enforcement contact included 2 speeding tickets and 1 vehicular accident that was my fault.
Must just be my Hispanic privilege.

They ain't wrong
They're not, but that is a hideous damn license plate to be the standard one. Why the hell did they get rid of the previous one? It fit perfectly.
